I am taking deposits for the next round that will be completed and shipped out next month. Please PM me if you are interested and have not already received a PM from me. The run size I am shooting for is 4-6 boxes which includes the one I am already working on.

Producing the first box will cost at least $1000 and that is of course using some of the things I already have that will work with a RHD version. A free back panel would drop those costs quite a bit. The only used back panels for sale in the US are LHD or I might have one made already.

I guess that really didn't answer your question about when but maybe at least it explains why.

So if I were to cut out the plastic middle area of mine do you think the stateside RHD one would fit? Also can you still make the RockfordFosgate version?

Cut out the back? Hmm I will have to think about that one. The foam pad behind it would be wrong and without it or the pocket I am not sure. You definitely would need a LHD foam piece back there or something or that back panel would flex like mad. Actually, you might be able to swap out the back panel and the foam piece for LHD versions and those can be obtained used for reasonable enough. That would probably be easier. I am not sure about modifying a RHD as the attachment would have to be completely rethought. I currently use the 5 holes from the cargo net or at least their location for those that did not have the netting. I will have to get back to you on this after I think about it some more.

As for the Rockford Fosgate version I can still make them but have not in a while. Not a lot of people want to lose that notch in their seat adjustment just for a little more sound and many like the harness bar option.

Crap, I forgot about the harness bar... I guess I'd need a 8"... I've always used RockFord in the past and love their Subs and Amps... I wonder if there is a 8" version that would work well with the airspace of your box? Not that I would be totally against a JL sub... Also any chance of doing a wet carbon fiber version... would better match the interior of my White car... And yes I know I'm being difficult..

Hmm won't let me edit for some reason..

I went to the rockford site and the smallest 8" mounting depth of 4.625" is a good 1" deeper than the shallow flush mount 10" so I guess that won't work... I may just go with the US version and make it work... I'm pretty good at making things work... The US back pannel should also fit fine in my car if you and source one for cheap.

...if you're going to buy a rear panel anyway, i suggest finding a cheap RHD panel for formwork instead - a significant apspect of the appeal of chuck's enclosure is that its installation allows you to keep your car in essentially stock configuration...

...i just perused rockford fosgate's site and their shallowest eight-inch driver is 104.8 millimeters, about three and a half millimeters deeper than the polk db subwoofer he's building for me right now, which i believe is at the limit of his current design...it seems that everyone's manufacturing these fantastic shallow-design subwoofers now in the range of eighty millimeters mounting depth, but nobody's making them any smaller than ten inches diameter...

I will send you a PM with the info. It will take me a some time to make the mold but I will start on it as soon as I have it.

Now if only I could deliver Dragon's box in person. I always wanted to see Japan and go to one of those fun looking festivals, see the cherry blossoms, check out the beach, ride the trains around, check out the buildings - I love the architecture, go to some clubs,... I am sure I would get lost wandering around and have a blast doing it.

I am interested

Hi Chuck. Are you currently taking orders as I am ready to make a deposit. I would like something in a black color that won't stand out too much. Do you have any photos of anything black? My exterior is red, so you might have a suggestion. Also, where does the amp go with this sub configuration? Thanks, Jason.

I still do not have a RHD back panel and I have no time to work one out for at least a month. Someone promised to send me one but never did so I put it on the back burner for now. I will try again next month to get one.

Wish I had better news.

Nope. Going to be a bit before I could make any more anyway since I am still in the middle of a run and have paint work promised that I need to do which is on hold until the current subs are completed.
