First post has been updated. The wheels are FINALLY here.
They will begin shipping out tomorrow to everyone that has paid their balance. If you have not paid your remaining balance please do so as soon as possible.I know there are a few people that have already called the vendor and are picking their sets up today. It would be great if the first people that get them could take some pictures for us all! Once again sorry for the delay - but it was out of my hands. Lets hope we all get alot of use out of these before winter! Mike

I made my $450 balance payment a couplle days ago, but received an email asking for an additional payment for shipping (about $40). I thought the group buy included shipping. Has anyone else encountered this, or has anything changed that I overlooked?

"A few of us decided to buy these wheels for AutoX use. For a custom order we had to buy 10 sets. Three of them are already spoken for. We have 7 sets available at a group buy price of $650/set (including shipping). They have already been ordered and we expect delivery in early September. A $200 deposit is required to hold your order you pay the balance in about 60 days."

I just talked to them (based out of CA) and he said the additional amount is only for people in California because it is for sales tax and all online sales that ship in the same state must pay sales tax (as with all online retailers). I will PM you some extra details on this.

Hey guys, I just picked up the wheels and though I'd share a couple important items.
When I opened the box at home, I found the wheel came with the flat metal center caps and not the CF ones. I called Zoeb and he said he forgot to swap them out. So for those getting them shipped, you may want to drop him an email or call to confirm he swaps out the center caps because it appears they come standard with the metal ones. That is if you prefer the CF caps vs. the flat metal ones. The 17" wheels have only four holes for the lug nuts/bolts, and the 16" wheel have 8 holes (4 tapered for lugs and 4 I guess for weight savings?). Zoeb indicated the wheels are made in different molds, so there's nothing that can be done about this...that is unless you're daring enough to drill some extra holes through the 17" wheels lol! Finally, for those wondering about the actual weight, the 17" wheels scaled in at about 28 lbs and the 16" at about 18 lbs. Please note, I used my cheap home scale. Correction – My scale is much cheaper than I thought. When weighting the wheels with me on it I found the 17" wheels are about 20 lbs and 16" at about 16 lbs. I have not mounted tires on the wheels yet, but have some low quality iPhone pictures. I don't how to post pictures on the board. So if you want pics, please email (Yamawaki@gmail.com) me and I'll send them and maybe someone can post them for us. Last edited by Nobuyasu : 09-26-2008 at 04:02 PM. |

Cant say I am thrilled about the HUGE weight difference. I mean 10lbs. off??
I know thing happen and mistakes are made but this is kind of a big one. I might have looked else where. I am excited to see how they look on my Elise though. Can we get an explanation as to what happened, why the weight was so far off?

I hope to get the flat caps so I can make custom overlays anyway. If I end up with CF I'll gladly trade you. I paid the balance (after taking cory's spot in line) this morning but never heard anything back.
Not thrilled about them being heavier or being different in appearance from front to back either. Knowing that I would of passed and scooped up one of the great used wheel/tire deals that have been on the board while waiting.

SweetD, I sent you pictures of the front and rear wheels via email, and the details in getting the flat caps instead of the CF ones.
Keith, thanks for telling me how to upload the pics. I was trying to upload with the Image icon, and not the paperclip. That was way to easy ![]() Last edited by Nobuyasu : 09-26-2008 at 05:43 PM. |

Being all black the holes on the rear set will probably end up blending in alright. I'll get the matte black BBQ grill paint out on my disc centers again.

I also think the rear wheels look a lot different than the fronts. Especially the centers/taper. I guess it just could be the angle, dunno. Is there more of a lip on the rears than the fronts? The hub centric holes look different too.
Thoughts?
