Speaking of which, I want to make some buttons (not to sell, but as a simple first machining project). Anybody know the thread size of the stud?

It looks like you may have missed by 5 minutes. Julian-Y beat you to it if he ends up sending the money. If not, I'll let you know. BTW, I looked on the US Post Office web site and it says that an 8 ounce large envelope costs only $1.20 American! I'm shocked it costs so little to mail a letter to you folks down under.
