Unless your state inspections are VASTLY different than mine, I highly doubt that any garage doing an inspection is going to notice whether your windshield is DOT approved, ESPECIALLY on a Lotus. Hell, I think I could show up with a chopped-up corpse in the passenger seat and no one would notice.

It isn't like this is a mod that JUMPS out at you when you look at the car.

I passed inspection in NJ no problem. Drove for a year, no scratches at all. Even using wipers once in a while.

What have been people's experience with this SpeedGlass windshield?

Can you install it without a surround? Can I reuse my old old if I carefully remove it from my broken windshield?

Durability?

Does anyone have installed pictures?

It's just another project for the off season...

I've got my eye on one of these eventually. if you get one, I'd be curious how you like it because 16 lbs is a lot to lose!
