Yes, I suppose so. But IMHO the vibration is really not that bad. Once you guys drive your car for about a week, I wouldn't be surprise the #4s voted on Smoky's scale will become a 1 or a 2 for most. And I will bet you will not even consider raising your idle after that. I could be bias. But I'm pretty confident that most people will agree with me after they drive their car just a little longer. They will slowly notice the benefits will out weigh the little vibration at idle. Especially for spirited drivers. The throttle response is noticeably quicker. That is very important for weight transfer. For instance, if you are going into a corner a little too hot, just by slightly lifting the throttle and quickly getting back on it again, the car will instantly rotate, tighten up, and you are back on your intended line. With the stock softer mounts in the above scenario, there will be a longer lag before the car will respond to your lift. And you will be off the throttle for slightly longer, thus you will be slower exiting that corner.

Do we have the official torque values for all the bolts yet? Should we use Loctite on them? Thanks.

I'm going with a #4 as well after first drive. I'm ok with it, but some might not like it. It is only noticeable to me at idle and when first taking off from a dead stop. As others said, probably not something you want for a daily (unless you are like me and used to race suspension and solid mounts).

Driverside mirror vibrates slightly
Passenger side mirror is just barely visible
I have no rearview so can't comment on that...
No teeth rattling.

I noticed Loctite residue on all of the rear (trans) bracket bolts upon removal. I cleaned the bolt threads with a wire brush, reinstalled all of the bracket bolts using Loctite, but did not use Loctite on the long bolt running through the center of the mount (it gets checked / retorqued frequently).

Then, I decided to disassemble the front engine mount (again) and reinstall the two bracket bolts using Loctite. I had done the upgrade to this mount, first, but did not notice any Loctite residue on the bolt threads.

The one thing this upgrade made me aware of is the need to check the bracket bolts periodically.

Will you be producing the "yellow" engine mounts at all in the near future?

Got them installed last night in about 90 minutes with a beer break.

The only difficult part was rethreading the dual top mounted side bolts on the rear mount (the ones that go directly into the subframe). If it wasn't for them it would have taken 15 minutes off my installation time.

I also noted that some of the inside rubber on the right hand side of my rear mount was melted - probably due to the proximity of the FF street header collector... I had to remove the heat shield during installation two years ago or it would have had contact.

For the first time I also left the undertray and diffuser connected together and removed/reinstalled it as a single piece. It was MUCH easier.

NVH Impressions:
- At startup/idle the entire car has a new very very subtle vibration. I LIKE IT.
- The side and rearview mirrors barely, barely vibrate. You really have to look for it though.
- It's like having a massage chair set to low while it warms up. It's gone when idle settles at 850rpm. I like it!
- It's not any louder at all - but it's revealed a couple of rattling plastic pieces in the panel behind the seats.
- I've had to change the order of my keys - I currently have the FOB, key, fuel key and trunk key on my chain. They were jingling softly when just sitting there until I moved a couple around.

Driving impressions:
- You CANNOT sense any vibration while in motion/cruise. No mirror vibration at all.
- The torque "application" when you quickly apply/remove throttle is INSTANTANEOUS!
- High rpm shifting is 2x crisper and more precise... I really really like it!!! I bet a bunch of the sloppy shifting in the past year was due to the sloppy/loose rear mount...
- My FF street header "donut" connection to the exhaust does NOT shift under load anymore. I'm sure that it was the cause of a bunch of my drone/loudness as it peeked opened/closed while the engine shifted. I guess it actually makes my car "quieter!"

I rate it a 4 as well on the NVH scale.

My wife and I are going out to celebrate our 7th anniversary on Saturday night - that'll be the test!

Anyway HIGHLY recommended!

Install on car with RTD brace and engine damper

I spent this afternoon putting mine on. The molded stock mounts have some slag in them so that needs to be cleaned out, otherwise the inserts don't seat completely and are too wide. They were not melted as was described in a previous post, they might have mistaken the rubber slag for melting.

The width is very tight so apply some WD-40 when you put it back in. I also used it when I put the slugs into the stock mounts.

The front mount has 2 bolts that go into the engine and they are a bit challenging. I wound up using a socket with a universal knuckle. The bottom one fed through from the front and top one fed through from the front also. Some of the oil lines and hoses were in the way but they may not be on the stock engine, I have the ForcedFed turbo so there is lots of extra plumbing. Putting the bolts back in is even more fun. The mount is so tight that it is hard to make finite adjustments to it to get the bolt holes perfectly lined up. Use lots of soap or WD-40 and don't spring the bracket to make it fit. The large through bolt should go in last.

The rear mount was a little longer process for my car as I have the Sector111 RTD brace as well as the ForcedFed engine damper. The easiest way to do this is to back the 2 bolts off of the frame that hold the RTD to it ( this was not in the instructions ). This allows you to move it back far enough so that the mount clears the bracket when you go to lift it out. Also back the bolt off or take it off completely for the engine damper. It puts the plates in bind at makes it difficult to line up the bolts on the re-install.

The fun part with re-installing the rear mount with the RTD and the engine damper is lining all the holes up. The front two are "blind" but the back two can be seen from underneath.

I used an automotive pry bar for both mounts to take them out and put them back in, The extra leverage really helped as the engine does drop about 1/2" once a mount is removed.

Use care on re-installing all the bolts as it is steel into soft metal.

I'll post some feedback tomorrow night as I plan on doing laps tomorrow afternoon.

Installed mine today, well had a local shop install them for me (gasheadmotorworks for the locals). I just didnt feel like messing with it myself. Took them about 45 minutes.. Car now feels more rigid, and vibrates a bit more at idol. Shifting is improved a bit too. Now I need to fix some of the rattles in my car as they have gotten a bit worse..

Just installed mine. They fit just like they should!

$2.00 in materials
$68.00 in engineering and convenience; Dang I wish I had thought of it fist!

Thanks for a good product.

PS: I was able to get the the bottom bolt on the front motor mount using a universal (knuckle buster) extension and my ratchet.

Got plenty of track time in today with the new mounts. There was some vibration at idle that was visible in the mirrors. After that not much. My engine was already dampened with the ForcedFed unit so I didn't feel much difference.

I figured that it can't hurt so that's why I installed it.
