here's something to consider on the color. black may be the way to go you cant see the mounts any ways and you don't want them to jump out if you take the car in for service. the more the car looks stock the better..carl

durability

Everyone seems obsessed with the color. My concern is the longevity of the mounts. Just exactly how much track time / miles have you put on these to see how well they hold up? If one of these lets loose, it's going to be a mess.

How could one "let loose" (fail), and what would make it a mess?

I believe the mounts are just inserts that provide additional resistance to engine pivoting under acceleration and decceleration.

If one were to "fail", you'd be running the same engine mount as before but experience stock engine movement due to the insert having failed.

My concern is that it develops a major crack and allows excess movement abruptly.

Did you read the post above yours?

Even if they did "fail" it would still have a lot less movement then stock...

These aren't replacing anything. They are simply adding rigidity to the stock setup.

I think you will find that these are replacing the stock ones not in addition too

Thanks. Missed that post. I thought it was an entirely new mount. Is it a new stock mount that has the insert in it?

so, on the passenger side of the car there is an engine mount with no room for an insert... which mounts are these applying to?

DPM, there are no new mounts involved, just inserts that plug into the existing mounts.

Manly is at buttonwillow for the weekend with the Lotus Challenge Series, I'm guessing he wont be back on the forum until next week.

Manly- thanks for the video. I've been wondering how much movement the motor experiences. No wonder exhaust systems are breaking left and right on our cars. Count me in when you get them. Bring them to the track and I'll just pick them up there.

Just wondering if an even stiffer bushing would be better for a track only car.

Forward and aft only.

There is no need to upgrade the side mounts since they are only there to locate the engine.

I will assume they will look something like this:

... and "plug in" to the stock mount like this:

Is that clear now?
