I don't mean to continue to hijack this thread but that is a nice looking cover there Jack...

The stickers/decals don't get too hot there? I would think they would either discolor or peel - but then again, maybe that is why you clearcoated over them.

We recieved our order last night. Great packing and nice looking instructions. We waited for a updated bracket for the Exige, which I believe we have. I hope to do the install this weekend and will post update with images.

I think there are going to be two options for the Exige owner. Since the exige doesn't have the same mounting hole as the Elise you can either A) drill a hole in the clam. or B) drill a hole in the metal hood prop support. Both methods require different brackets. I modified the original Elise bracket but Saikou is working on a new bracket to utilize mounting method B. So far I have been very impressed with SaiKou Michi Co. Their before sales after sales service has been awesome to say the least. Plus they make an outstanding product the quality is impeccable.

P.S I have no affiliation with Saikou Michi. I am just a happy customer relieved to receive such great service.

Since you're in So Cal ZJ chaser. You're welcome to pick up the exige specific bracket which mounts to the clam if you'd like or I could mail it to you. I didn't use it since I didn't want to drill into the clam.

Should I email Mr. Saikou, or just send payment via paypal with my address and note that this is for an Elise?

I might take you up on that. I have the cans sitting in a box with the elise mounts currently. The car will be ready for them in a few weeks.

2nd try

Do these need to be emptied or drained or cleaned out somehow? If so, at what interval, and how is that accomplished?

The oil need to be drained out thru the drain valve on the bottom. The interval depends on the miles driven. I guess drain it whenever you change the oil should be safe. I'm going to remove my OCC to drain it when the time comes. Should be very easy to remove and put back on.

besides the enviromental issues are there any codes throwing with this setup (i mean dave's setup)? in my opinion and little experience i have it is much better to leave these fumes out of the engine. either in a can like this setup or directly through just air filters , but can mess up your engine with dirt.

BUT this setup i really like . what are the disadvantages of this setup ? DAVE have you measured ? plesae let us know . thx

PM replied to Jean. And yes, the coolant bypass works just fine with a s/c car.

I have the ported TB and bypassed the coolant when I installed it several years back. No issues since I've added the S/C.

Dave, are you still using the ported TB?
