Poss. Group Buy Rota P45's for Lotus
Update: I got a message saying it was poss. to do ten orders for $700 shipped anywhere in the U.S.
I recieved this message about a poss. group buy.----- "We'll be happy to help you to custom order the wheels. We will need minimum 10 sets of order to be able to process with the order, I will double check again with the manufacture to be sure if it's possible to order and the cost. Waiting time normally about 2-3 months, but on December, the manufacture is closed, so we estimate you will get it around January/ February. We could order one color selection (flat black - no red lip) in P45F 17x7.5 4x100 +25 hub 56.7mm P45R 17x9 4x100 +30 hub 56.7 " ----These are the pictures in some other colors - first image is the front, other two are the rears... (I think that they closely resemble the Lotus cup 240 wheels)

You should post the weight.

looks like (from another website) that the 17x7.5's should be 18.35lbs.. So the rears should be slightly more...
ROTA P45F Wheels 17x7.5|Rota Rim|Rota Racing Wheels This is the only one that says the weight...

In my opinion, I'm not too fond of the extra holes around the mounting holes. I've googled some pics and they look a bit odd... a little "deep dish"... but that may be just the profile on the particular setup for the pics I found online... ![]() ![]() |

They're replicas of the Nismo LM GT4 wheels. The P45Fs have flat faces, and the P45Rs have concave faces. Not sure on how much the concave will be on the 9" wide wheels. I have a set of the 18" wheels on my GTO and I think they look pretty awesome. On a Lotus though, it might look a little strange; I like the staggered 16" / 17" setup.

I don't think you are going to get a huge response, since the fronts are not the right sizes.

Well, I guess I will just have to get the 17/18 team Dyn 1.2's... If they have any left at the end of the month...
I just can't believe that I am the only one who thinks that they would look good...

they might look really good but i think 16's all around makes a heck of a lot more sense than 17's considering people are pretty performance oriented here. Heck, 15's all around would be ideal but there's virtually no street tires for the rears in a 15" rim.
Note that there was a big group buy of 15/16 rota slipstreams... not perticularly attractive rims if you ask me... but the sizes and offsets were on the money. Kinda says where the priorities are. when i see 17/18's on a lotus it makes me wince at the lack of sidewall... they just look like they're begging to get bent on a pot hole...

Guys, if you decide to do a group buy try looking into the main distributor of Rota wheels @ WHEELDUDE.COM
Joe and Zoeb will be able to figure out the correct fitment for you guys! cheers! |

I like em, but I'd prefer the factory rim diameter bias. (Don't see a reason to go bigger.) I'd want gunmetal.

Yeah, I know... I like those better than the slipstream (a lot better actually), but I really don't want 17's all around. I'd go in on another Slipstream group buy though. I need black wheels too, among other things.
EDIT: Here's an idea! Tell em to make them in the right size! ![]()

I'm guessing I'll just have to paint my OEM wheels. I can't seem to find a wheel I like and like enough to pay the MSRP on. I've been putting it off and putting it off. but I think I may have to yank em off and get to painting this weekend. I'm tired of my wheel stains.

This set would only be $700 shipped if we got ten orders... Does that sweeten the deal for anyone????

My next set of wheels is going to be a 15/16 setup. I like the look of the wheels, but if I'm not mistaken the slightly lower front creates downforce that keeps the car stable at speed. You might be able to account for this with tires....but your sidewall would be so small in the front that you'd have to worry a lot more about pot-holes.
