I actually received one of these for Christmas as well. They are pretty well put together. Good luck with the sale!

Too bad missed it. I'm looking for one just like that, but it seems the production run of this color has ended. So if somebody else is selling drop me a PM.

I'm also interested in a black Elise S2 with the same 8 spoke rims.

There's a black version?

I settled for the 1:43 AUTOart off of lotus' website at $40. $40 for a car the same size as a matchbox/hotwheels car. =/ At least it has gold rims.

I've even seen the type 72. Amazon UK still sells it:
Diecast Model Lotus Elise (2002) in Black: Amazon.co.uk: Toys & Games
It is a 2002 model though (different wheels from yours)
I believe I once also came across the new model type 72, but I don't seem to be able to find it again.

Welly makes the 111s (pretty similar to the 111r) in black.

That's the one I have, the picture on the webpage is actual size. It's not sold as a 72D, it just has tan seats and gold rims, but it was the closest I have seen.

...either you haven't received it yet or your memory of matchbox cars is a touch rusty - they're typically 1:64(ish) scale...admittedly, matchbox has recently produced some collector's lines at dinky scale, 1:43, but they're significantly larger and more detailed than their traditional size...
