5th Annual ITR Expo Trackday -- Official invitation to Lotus Elise owners

NOTE: If you are interested in this event at all, please respond ASAP. We're trying to get everyone paid up by January 4th.

Event date: May 28-29, 2005

All the info is located here:
http://www.itrca.com/events/expo5.php

The track is located in Glenwood, Iowa ... about 20minutes EAST of Omaha, NE. Plenty of places to stay, and I could even be talked into the use of my guestroom/basement/couches for any Elise owners needing it. I live 30min away.

Please shoot me a PM or email Wes Moore at wmoore@oppd.com if you have any questions. I also instruct at this track, and can answer just about any question you might have.

Again ... we need you to express your interest (and pay) before January 24th!! This event will be a BLAST, and for $315 for 2 days of tracktime, you certainly cant' beat it.

- M-95 OR SA-95 helmets are required
- no noise restrictions
- 1/8mi dragstrip on site

There will be somewhere around 25 instructors there to help out anyone that would like some instruction.

For me, I personally like helping out the "newbies", rather than helping Mario perfect his trail braking.

Has this event filled up? I see the Jan. 4 date, but unexpectedly got my car around 6 months early. My mom happens to live in the area, so I'd have a free place to stay.

It's not full at all.

If you're interested, you need to act fast. We need paid entries by the 24th of January, or else it's not going to happen.

Come on down ... it'll be a blast!

It's not booked, but you've gotta hurry!

Follow the link in the first post, and get ahold of Wes. He'll take payment, and put you on the registered list. We have enough people signed up - we just need those that haven't paid to PAY!

Tell me about the helmet. I have an Arai bike helmet, would that qualify?

If it qualifies, there should be a sticker somewhere inside the helmet (could be under the padding) that says something along the lines of "Snell Memorial Foundation M-95". (SA-95 is usually reserved for motorsports-specific helmets.)

For this event, no problem. I doubt there's an Arai helmet that's not Snell certified.

as EdHahn said ... it should say something like M95 or M2000 inside the helmet somewhere.

Some other track events require an SA-rated helmet (extra fire retardant), but not this ITR event.

I recommend signing up for the event. The track is a blast, the ITR guys are really nice, there are 2 casinos (if tha'ts your thing) about 10 minutes away that you could stay at (Harrah's and Ameristar), downtown Omaha is 15-20min away, and there are plenty of good restaurants & bars down there.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

I'm just trying to push those that are on the fence, 'cause time is running out!

I want to go, I'm on the fence because I'm trying to figure out the call schedule. I'd hate to sign up and then be stuck on call and not make it.

Understood. Is it possible to figure out the schedule this far in advance? May is a ways away.

That's the problem. I don't make it the schedule the staff office does and I've been pushing it. I can always trade but that's the graduation weekend for a bunch of high school and colleges, including the med school, hence I think my trade prospects are ****e.

I just talked to the organizer, and when asked "what if someone pays, and something comes up that weekend, and they can't make it?"

he said "more than likely, there will be room for refunds"

I don't know if that helps your situation or not.

Sounds great! Shouldn't be a problem getting 1000 in. I did 1500 while in Austin in only 4 days, and that was pretty easy.

I don't know MAM's rates for track rental, but I know that sounds about average. I've been to a bunch of events out there, and it's almost always between $300-$400 (depending on how many people enter).

Are you going to send in payment before the 24th??
