5th Annual Vandenberg AFB Charity Car Show – Dec. 17th, 2016

FAST CARS AND FASTER INTERCONTINENTAL BALLISTIC MISSILES - 2016
Vandenberg AFB, 747 Nebraska Ave - Vandenberg
Date(s) - 12/17/2016, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Location: Vandenberg AFB
Charity / Road Trip / Social Event

This was previously cancelled due to fire but has now been rescheduled for December 17th. This is one of the best shows every year. Beautiful scenery on the drive up, an excellent group of car owners, and a truly wonderful bunch of attendees made up mostly of the Air Force families stationed at Vandenberg. Plus, us Lotus guys get the VIP treatment every year. This is also a great event for the less car enthusiastic friends and spouses to tag along, thanks to wine tasting from local wineries, live music, and plenty of food.

There is no charge, but this event requires registration through their website:

Vandenberg Exotic Car Show - rescheduled

This applies to the Car Show (not the VIP Dinner with the Airmen): For those that already signed up and submitted the Air Force Entry Form, they are good to go; they just need to let me know in advance that they are attending. New people need to signup and we will send them the AF Entry Form. The car show is FREE for car owners and spectators.

I appreciate the support from the Lotus community! At the event, the Lotus group gets the best positions and are very popular with the troops and especially the children.

Jim has taken great care of us every year that I've attended. It's pretty cool to be the one getting special treatment when there are so many incredible Italians all around.

Yes! I'm driving up Saturday morning. However, Ferrari of Westlake is the meetup location.

From Jim's email:
They will depart APPROXIMATELY 8 am from the NEW Ferrari Westlake Showroom at 3195 Willow Lane, Thousand Oaks (just off Hampshire Road exit, one block south of the 101 Freeway. Coffee will be provided by Ferrari Westlake. Distance to the car show is approximately 120 miles.

So, I'll be meeting there. Hopefully you can join us!

Unfortunately not. Didn't think to take pictures of it, though I should have. Actually, I only took 2 pics of the Lotus group.

The Tesla was next to me.

It was a great honor to do something nice for our dedicated servicemen. I had a chance to interact with them during our brief ride along makeshift autocross sessions - great fun by all. Also spent time with a group of squared away young security force (MP) guys/gals - I was impressed and humbled. They escorted and provided security for us throughout all events. Wish Lotus Esprit, Evora, and/or 7 owners could participated. It was all about and for the airmen...

Also, had bunch of kids and their parents sat in my Elise and took photos - they had a blast and appreciated it. Great to see wide eyes and huge smiles on the kids.

If you guys can, please participate the April 2017 Edwards AFB car show - it's a small token of our appreciation.

Modded but still NA!
