it may be better for me to go earlier, meet at the gas station (wich ever side we want to go up) at around 7:00ish... I may still be able to go later but i have a newborn and tired wife at home, so my times when i can escape are kinda random... hopefully I can work in this drive.

Having ridden motorcycles up there regularly since 2001, I can tell you either go really early, like before 7am, or go way later, like after 3pm. Anything in between on the weekend will mean a ton of cops and motorcyclists.

Not sure if that section is completely paved or not, and there are some rough sections up there as well.

We can go up the front side, turn left at the ranger station, go up the backside, come back through Upper Big T and then come back on AFH to Newcomb's.

Very nice and smooth sections there with a lot of sweepers.

It's one of the most beautiful and scenic roads here and it's not too overly tight for cars. I love it.

I would suggest we meet up around 7ish at the Shell Gas off the 210W and ACH exit. Gas up and leave. Get up there to Nuke's by 8ish. Eat, hang, then come down the front side and go home from there.

No need to really push the speed limit though. Too many cops and bikers. Just have a nice, leisurely cruise through the canyons.

Is this the shell you are talking about? Trying to figure out my drive time to there, looks like around 40ish minutes from Santa Monica. (Although I have no idea what weekend traffic is typically like...)

Sure, I can be there by 7am. There's a 7/11 and Starbucks at the Corner Oro Vista and Foothill in Sunland guys. Grab a seat in Starbucks and we can all meet up there.

Krule, Tem, and blankdan? You guys confirming your participation?

Anyone else want to join in this short drive? We should all be home before noon with that early of a start time.

I need to be home by 11:00, I don't think that should be a problem, but if for some reason we end up running late I may split early from newcomb's, but that's the worst case.

Mojo and I will meet up at Newcomb's from the front side off the 210 and ACH at the Shell. If you guys are coming up the backside then you should be up there around 8ish.

Yes, that's the Shell. No traffic on the weekend getting there. Going up is not so certain with all the bikers and other cars.
