CT Lotus Foliage Mohegan Sun Run

Since no one else seems to be stepping up to the plate, I figured I would give it an attempt and arrange a little meet.

What I am suggesting is Sat Oct 7th we meet at maybe HRM or some other easy meeting place. We trip through the back roads of CT to enjoy some foliage since it will be the height of the Foliage season. We can maybe drive 45 minutes on back roads and then hit 84 and take the highways to Mohegan Sun Casino. If you guys would like more back roads that could be arrange too. When we get to the casino we can have dinner, see a show, whatever, and then go gambling. For those of you who want to sleep over that night at the casino or other cheaper hotels near the casino, we could then arrange a trip back on Sunday

If you guys like the idea I can create a schedule of times and stops etc. So who is interested?

Scotty, I'll be definitely interested. If you can do the run the 14th instead of the 7th the time could work better for me since I'll be flying back from the Shanghai F1 race that weekend...gonna be slightly jet lagged. Either way, count me in.

14th is good too! Whatever date is better for the majority. Maybe we could use the 14th as a backup rain date?

Thumbs up I'm in for the 7th or 14th right now...

That sounds great and either the 7th or the 14th is great for me. I can't wait to hang out with other LLers...

SOUNDS GREAT. I'm in either day, 7th or 14th. Is there a 'cost effective' way to book a room at Mohegan Sun itself? I called for a quote there a while back and remember being a bit surprised at the room rate. I'd rather stay there than a surrounding hotel, just curious if anyone has found a good way to book it.

Dinner sounds great, show sounds great, gambling sounds great. They have craps tables right? Is there safe parking there?

cheers,
Albert

The surrounding hotels are the way to keep the prices down. The Lots there are pretty safe, I've never had a problem.

Oh, and yes they do have craps. That's my game!

From what I can tell MS is either sold out or I'm just not picking the right stuff. I may try calling them. Other Saturdays seem to be in the 350-499 range. (!!)

Scotty will you stay at MS or a surrounding hotel, if the later which one? I'd rather stay with the 'crowd...'

cheers

I haven't decided if I'm going to sleep over. That depends on the wife and kids. I could allways trip home at night and come back up early the next mroning. They are probably sold out at Mohegan Sun so I would probably choose one of the local surrounding hotels. You can park your Lotus outside your room at most of them, and they are all new and clean. I would suggest we get a count of how many of us want rooms and then we can find one place that can accommodate us.

As a side note, they are having a Beatles Tribue band playing those weekends. Along with an Eric Clapton Concert at 7:30pm

Okay between what's here and my emails, I think the 7th is the better date and we will keep the 14th as a rain date.

So now we just need a list of participants. This is what I have so far.

ScottyB

Mark Starr
ZakSkiGuy - Hotel
kibbles
pchop

KingOfJericho

Also who wants to sleep over night at a hotel?

I'll try to make this one (I know I said that about the last one, but I really mean it this time).

I have to decide whether to go on this drive or go the Rolex Vintage Races at Lime Rock. I don't think two straight car weekends in CT would go over well with the gf although she did have a great time on the summer exotic car run.

Are any of you guys going to lime rock for the vintage festival?

Mark...congrats on your new showroom! Will service still be in Port Chester?
