Scotty, my memory has been bad lately...but was the plan to meet somewhere in Greenwich (HRM?), take some twisties up to your place for a midway break, and then the fast roads up to Mohegan Sun? Should we make a dinner reservation up there?

Looking forward to this!
Right now the plan is to meet at HRM (Greenwich) Trip up to 84 via twisties while answering triva questions on the ride. We can then stop at my house for refreshments and review the trivia, then head over to mohegan sun. Yes we should make a dinner reservation once we know how many of us there will be.

I'm going to need some help mapping out the twisties and trivia, so if anyone's interested please pm me.

Mark can we meet at HRM Greenwich at say 9 am for the kickoff? Also please open this event up to other HRM clients that might not be online.

Finalizing details

So here are the plans we have so far.

9 am we all meet at HRM's new Lotus of Greenwich Showroom
249 railroad Ave
Greenwich, Ct 06830

Mark Star and his group have graciously offered to supply Bagels and Spread for everyone.

Between 9 and 10 we will hand out copies of the run and a trivia game sheet to be filled out by passengers while on the run

We will then commence on the twist scenic back roads of CT & NY making some stops along the way.

We then arrive at my house around 12pm for some rest and a snack for a while. Also we will go over the answers to the trivia game.

When everyone is all set we then take off to the Mohegan Sun Casino which is about an 1:45 ride. We can then meet/eat/gamble etc. We will make all other arrangements and meetings when we get to the Casino. I would suggest that we all park in the indoor self parking garage.

For those wishing to stay in the area over night, the casino hotel is completely booked, but the surrounding hotels have availability. You can contact the Mohegan Sun for other Hotels in the area. That night there will be a Beatlemania Band playing and also Eric Clapton will be in concert as well.

If anyone has any constructive suggestions please feel to post. Also Mark needs to get an idea of how many participants we will have.

I am sure I can get a few NE owners to make the drive down. Only about 1 hour for us from Central MA. Is this finalized yet? Do you have times and the like? Thanks.

Do you know around when you will arrive at Mohegan so we can coordinate when the NE people show up? Also, where are you coming from "home", maybe we can meet you in between? Maybe PM me and we can chat off-line. Thanks.

good news

I found a decent deal at the Holiday Inn in New London. They had a "Mohegan Sun" package that included shuttle bus, breakfast for 2, MS food tickets, play match ticket, etc. I think it was $211 for the night. There was another option via Priceline that I might have gotten cheaper in Mystic but was about another 10 miles and not sure if they had a shuttle. Most of the other hotels were sold out. This hotel had 4 more rooms avail total at the time I called.

For those with richer blood, Mohegan Sun has rooms for that date at the low low price of $499 per night. They had been sold out but I guess something opened up.

Looking forward to it!

I expect to be +1.

Great! Looks like this is coming together well. No lets pray for good weather. Also the leaves are just beginning to change. So we might just experience the height of the foliage change.

If the weather sucks, we have 10/14 as a rain date.

Just you or are you +1 and will you stay overnight?

I hope the weather this weekend is anything like today.
