Talking FVMC: 2nd Annual "Hethel takes the Hill" at The Tail of the Dragon (2008)

Ladies and Gents, it is with great pride that we slot the 2008 Fox Valley Motorcars "Hethel takes the Hill" event at the Tail of the Dragon. This year's event will be taking place:

Sunday, June 15th. thru Thurs, June 19th.

Home base will again be The Fontana Village and Resort:

http://www.fontanavillage.com/

Changes to lodging this year will be; the procurement of our own building and parking lot to keep the entire group and their cars together (rather than spread across the mile square compound)

Further tweaks to the drives and dinning arraignments will be made for this year to fine tune the trip. Welcome to the evolution. Arrival will be at your leisure on Sunday, with the first group dinner that evening at the Moutview Bistro in the main Lodge at 8:00pm. Further updates will come as the event draws near and any questions you have may be placed on this thread and will be answered. As in the past, FVMC will make the arraignments with the Hotel, Restaurants, and plan the drives, the only thing attendees need to do is show up and play (no event fee's apply aside from the obvious Gas, food, Hotel, Etc.).

We ask that you post a response to this thread if you intend on coming to help us track the amount of people we will have this year.

Current registered attendees as we begin are:

Bill Nuchio Jr.: 1-Car (1 or 2-people)
The Mike Miller Family: 4-cars (4-people)

Looking forward to seeing you all in June (pray that it doesn't rain this year!)

Can you elaborate on the "our own building"? The lodge is too big for us to take over and none of the cabins is big enough.

I'll be there in May with the MINIs and can probably make a return trip in June with the Lotus.

We intend on taking either Garden units D and C and the parking areas that go with them, or if we have more people (which it kinda seems like we may already) the Cabana building and its parking lots. Here is the map to show you what we are talking about (Scroll to page 2 for a close in view):

http://www.fontanavillage.com/maps/villagelegend.pdf

These rooms are very nice and were re-done last year. We stayed in Garden Unit C and it was like a Hyatt room with a fireplace.
The only thing that isn't shown on the map is the parking areas (they are quite adequate and secluded for our cars and transports)

Jenny gets her school schedule on Monday. I'll let you guys know. Sounds like it is going to be 6 weeks on, 1 week off. Hopefully one of the weeks off works with this.

People will undoubtedly fall out as well as add on as the event gets near but preliminary attendees after one day of post is:

Bill Nuchio Jr.- 1 Car/2 People
Miller Family- 4 Cars/4 People
John- 1 Car/1 Person
Ztec- 1 Car/2 People
Mick- 1 Car/1 Person
Wrh3- 1 Car/1 Person
Alilbrit- 1 Car/2 People
SweetDady 1 Car/1 Person
Swede- 1 Car/2 People
ChrisN- 1 Car/1 Person
Insane- 1 Car/1 Person
111Geek- 1 Car/2 People
Rob and Jenn- 1 Car/ 1 or 2 People (unknown due to schedule)

Totals as things stand today: 15-16 Cars/20-22 People

We will continue a tally over the next few months and ask everyone to let us know when they have reserved their rooms so we can post the final number closer to June. We will post up when room registration is ready (have to work out the details with Fontana first) so everyone will get in the same building. Looks like we have a lot to arrange, a big group needs more planning
