Hmmm.... Michelle and I are planning on being in England the 19th through the 30th... We might be able to make some modifications to the plans. Not sure if she would be so interested in the car stuff though (actually I know she wouldn't).

Good point. I was also one of the ones that did not sign up for the track day, since I had done it before and I am just not comfortable driving a right hand drive car.

I think we really created a trip last time that was not all that car related. Even Goodwood appeals for other reasons.

I might have to talk the wife into either letting me go, or going along. I'd have to make a stop at Knowlton Church in Dorset however...just to get back to my 16th Century roots.

So my big thing would be to get some track time on the Lotus track. With this trip did they change the track day from Saturday to something during the week? Was it a special event they set up for you guys?

Curious as to how much total a trip like this would cost and also if I want to bring a 8 yrs old along?

And yes, definitely track days. How much extra?

Thanks.

Having been on the previous trip, I will say this as delicately as possible. We will be spending a great deal of time together on the bus and doing other adult things, like dinners out etc. All 8 year olds and all parents are not created equally. There are parents that believe that their children's bad behavior should be tolerated by everyone around them. They don't believe in discipline and seem immune to the child's screaming and temper tantrums. Other children are very well behaved. (This extends from my belief that the parents believe in discipline and firm boundaries from an early age.) This type of parent understands that their child and child's behavior is their responsibility. If you or your child are in the former group, everyone including you will NOT have a good time. If you and your child are in the latter group, everyone will have a good time. Personally, I think this would be more enjoyable for a 10-12 year old, but as I said, each child is different. Thanks in advance for taking this in the positive, yet realistic spirit it is intended.
Cheers!

Fred. Thanks for pointing that out. Although I'm pround to say that my son is an absolute angel , you are right that this is an adult trip and might not be approiate for a kid. I guess I'm out in this case .

How much do you think the entire trip would cost (excluding airfare)? My wife and I would be interested if we can work it into our regular vacation to India.

I think you can use the costs from the 2007 trip as a guide. The exchange rate is 25% better right now, so it will be a bit less.

UK/Goodwood Trip

Randy...we went two years ago and am still talking about it. In fact, three of my racing friends are very interested in going, so add four more to your list. Would it be possible to go to Goodwood TWO days? Friday and Saturday. One day just started to get me going. A tour bus, even a smaller one if it is a smaller group, would be great. Let's do it!

Jack

Hi Randy, pls add my wife and I to the interested list. Neither of us would be comfortable driving a RHD vehicle on the track, tho.

Thx for looking into it.

Hey all, AGAIN... everyone had such a good time, I am doing this again. I have four confirmed so far. I need a real head count. The exchange rate is in our favor! So if you think you can go, let me know.
