If it makes you feel any better, mine's much worse. I'll spare LT the pics & just leave it with sharing the fact that the wound has since scabbed over. ewww.

a lot of it was retaliation from being passed.

have to say a lot of it was counter productive. all bumping does is slow you down. the only time you don't want to get passed was during race 3. in all the other heats, if the guy behind you is faster, you should've let him pass so you can:

1. copy his line
2. use him to pace you

of course both 1 and 2 are moot if the guy behind you is a lot faster, but if that's the case, you should have moved over anyway...

right Jacob?

I'm not so sure it was bumping. Normally I keep clear of any of that sort of thing (I did get involved in little bit of bad behaviour on Sunday I have to admit) and still get bruised. I think most of it comes from sliding around in the seat. My 'bruises' started life as very sore patches that looked like abrasions.

the bruising is from the shape of the seat. While I dont visibly bruise, I do get two swollen spots on my back after a day at kart factory every time. keep forgetting to bring a foam pad.

Agreed, I wasn't getting very bumped or doing much bumping, but was sliding around in the seat a whole bunch. Next time, I'm going to bring some extra air2gel I got for an old car I no longer own. I suppose some meat on my bones wouldn't hurt either.

I don't suppose anyone has the hand-written lap times of our final races do they?

This is why you guys need a fat suit like mine - it protects all my internal organs from bruising and other contusions.

Fat Guys +1, Everyone Else 0

the smoother you get, the less sliding around you'll be doing in your seat.

so if you say you didn't do any bumping, then you're doing some rough driving through some of the corners to bruise yourself.

Yeah, I was definately faster after following the lines of faster people. But I like bumper cars, at least playing bumper cars with similar speed cars is fun.

I'm actually hoping that we all get good enough to learn how to drive without slamming into one another. I think a bump here and there is fine, but I've talked to some of the better karters and they all say that being taken out at a turn is not really part of the sport.

Next event will be next month. I was actually a little disappointed by the turn out this month. It was good to have people like BrianK and MDWeaver come, but the overall interest and turn out was less than our weeknight events. I kind of figured the weekend event would have filled up right away, but apparently most of the regular karters are busy on the weekends.

For those that attended and those that would like to attend future events, please join Lotuscar.ning.com AND join the karting group. You will receive early emails about events BEFORE I post here on LT. Again you must join the karting group.

Coi I know you can't make weekend events, but figured you at least had the autocross the week before.

Jacob, we need to talk to the owner to see how we can make it more organized. I think cooler temps at night is better for the karts also. There were a lot of kart atrocities that day even though we weren't slamming them against one another.
