Laurel Maryland Car Show October 14

The 6th annual car show at the UPS site in Laurel, MD is Saturday October 14th.

All kinds of cars there, expecting 1400+, claims to be the largest single day car show in Maryland.

Lots of entertainment, food, etc.

1400 cars?! Where the hell do they put them? I think I've been over there to pick up a package and I don't remember there being a lot of parking.

If I can drag myself out of bed early enough I might give it a shot. It's either that or the York show, and Laurel is a lot closer though the drive won't be as fun

Edit: found a flyer for the show.

1800 cars but only two Lotus

The show was very big, reportedly around 1800 cars this year. I think it was bigger than they'd expected because by the end they were packing cars into the entrance lanes. Even so, repeat attendees told me it was better-organized this year. Start to finish was 10 hours. The burnout contest at the end of the day was amusing (no I did not participate), as everything from dragster beetles to semi cabs got in on it.

The show was very US-centric, even more than I'd expected. It's mostly for the classic and hot rod crowd. Of the 47 award classes, about 3 of them were aimed at foreign cars. They were even sending imports to a different entrance, which turned out to be a good thing because it meant much less waiting in line.

There were very few British cars there. Lotus was represented by my red Elise and kyohan03's saffron. We were in the section with the bikes and import tuners. I recall seeing a Bentley, a Sprite, and an MG scattered throughout the venue. I only spotted one Porsche, and I think Italy was a total no-show. There was a classic Ferrari/Euro show going on over in Rockville so that wouldn't have helped attendance.
