Let's represent Lotus at SF Bay Area weekly meets
Folks from f-chat are trying to start "Crystal Cove" type event here. I came today to fist meeting and mine was the only Elise among 15 cars.
Santana row is just 3 miles ways from my house and is a nice place to start the morning, meet other car nuts and chat. EDIT: As this weekly meet gets momentum before it gets out of control here arre the rules

I'd really, really like to see something like this in DFW but would rather not have every clapped-out primered Civic in town show up like that last few informal meets.
How do you guys manage that? Our meets usually get overrun by the Fast & Furious crowd.

" Bay Area "Crystal Cove" 2006 It has been quite a while since there has been any proper meet or drive in the Bay Area. Anyway, after thinking about it, I think it's time to set up an EXOTIC CAR meet regularly. It would somewhat imitate Crystal Cove in SoCal with respect to a bunch of Exotic Car owners and enthusiasts getting together for a couple of hours to admire each others' cars. Since the Bay Area is so vast and owners are rather spread out geographically, it would be better if there are a couple of different locations. Therefore, here's the idea: On the first Saturday of every month, we can have a meet at the Starbucks in Santana Row. The time can be discussed but I would guess people want it somewhat early in the morning--8:00 A.M? On the third Saturday of every month, we can have a meet at the Starbucks in Stanford Mall (Palo Alto). This would be more preferable to those who are in the North Bay. However, this location can be discussed as well because some might prefer it further north as in Menlo Park or even San Mateo but I'm not too familiar with those areas so others can recommend places to meet. The fact that there will be two different dates and two different locations will give an option to people who want to come. Those who can't make it to one, can come to the other. Also, no drives are planned as this is just an opportunity for car nuts to get together and have a good time. EVERYONE IS WELCOME--ALL CARS/BIKES etc. Anyone can come out on a Saturday morning with family/friends (or alone) to check out the rides and start the day off well! Any suggestions or comments are welcome, especially for the second location. Hope this works out for most people! The first meet is at Santana Row this coming Saturday, June 3rd at 8:00 A.M. (As suggested in the other thread)"

I don't know how. Location choice, I guess. I can not recall such a problem here.

Post a reminder several days before the next one, and several Elises and Exiges will probably show. However, I think two Saturdays from now is the GGLC BBQ thing in Danville. |

I also live very close to Santana Row - would have been there this morning if I had known about it.
From the linked thread it seems that the next one at SR will be two weeks from now - can anyone confirm that? Last edited by cstetter : 06-04-2006 at 01:55 AM. Reason: corrected day for next event |

It was just a suggestion to do those two places. Seems people liked SR much. So it may end up to be the place. Let's watch and take part in that discussion on fchat and give proper warning here once place for next meet is settled.

I'm planning a drive for Saturday the 10th, ending with a stop at ExigeMotorWorks in SF for a dyno day and open house up there. I'll make the start point SR, probably 8 or 9 in the morning.

Matt, it's in Stanford shopping mall next Saturday (6/10), not at Santana Row!
http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpos...4&postcount=19 The plan seems to have 1st and 3d Satuday meets at Santana row and 2d and 4th at Stanford. Too bad I have to drive to LA on the 10th of June and won't be able to join you guys On the day of GGLC run/BBQ on 6/17 the meet IS at Santana Row. Quote:

How many here live closer to the Northbay/SF area? I want to see if there are enough people up north to justify setting up a meet on this side.
Santana Row and Standord Mall are very close to each other that it doesn't really make a difference for the northern folks. Might as well just stick to one venue. I was thinking we can have the second venue by the Ferry building or by Red's Java House. There are huge parking lots and have access to food and other things. Thoughts? |
