Might stop by. But wouldn't be doing a drive. Most likely will do a scouting run for the Mt Hamilton drive / FF meet on Sunday.

Hey guys, I heard a rumor but wasnt sure, but it looks like it is confirmed..

Luis (that LOUD black gt3), very nice and amazing guy that goes to SR, died on the drive on saturday after SR.

Not sure of the details, I only saw the post on Fchat, which i check every now and then at work and left a comment. Were any E-Talk members there? Four of us (3 Elises and 1 Exige S) went on our own quick drive up skyline and left well before the bigger group did.

We were invited to the drive, but I'd already decided that I was heading up to FoSF to see if I could check out that F355 again, and Scott (in the Mondial), Colin (NFB gullwing Elise) and myself headed up to Berkeley for lunch along the way there instead.

I don't think I could have handled another accident on a twisty drive, so for that, I'm thankful I wasn't there, and while I'd never gotten the chance to talk to Luis, I knew about his passion for cars and how much he was loved by the Bay Area car community.

Jen, you didn't go on the drive, did you?

I read the thread on Fchat and Luis sounds like a really great & talented person. Always sad to read someone's passing during a drive. I don't know how I would handle it if I were there to see it. Terrible...

Had a chance to do a drive with Luis last year. He had a passion for cars and driving them. Sorry to hear about his passing.

Remember Kevin what I told you about me last time I saw you? Hearing this bad news does remind me to count my blessings.
Very sad news....Luis will be missed

My first impulse is to say 'ditto', but... I don't make promises I might not be able to keep.

And to think I used to take my daughter along. Man...

Very sad. I've got several fond memories of hearing that car's roar through the trees on bay area backroad drives. Was in an underpass along side it once with the top off on the Elise and he revved it; the echoing blast of noise was an odd mix of pain and beauty. I didn't know Luis, but that car always put a smile on my face. My condolences to his family and friends.

Does Santana Row still have a good turnout? One of my colleagues wants to take her son to see the cars and I was wondering if its still worth it.

Think so - judging by the pics posted on F-chat. Also, at least last week there was a large group of Lotus prior to the FF drive. Remember that the weather is nice now so turnout will be better.

Personally, I haven't made it there for a while now due to business travel and it looks like the next two weeks are also out for me

Upcoming Run from SR--East Bay--May 12

Thought I would point out that I will be hosting a run starting at SR on May 12. Details have been posted on the GGLC calendar:
http://www.gglotus.org/ggcalend/ggcalend.htm
Lunch at a restaurant will follow the run. This lunch is optional, but I will need a head count to finalize the reservation if you are interested. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Matt - you need to start organizing your own copy of SR in Colorado.

Andy, I think the next time I can make it is 5/19.

We missed you at the Mt.Hamilton/FF drive.

After the 2 recent deaths, I think I have mellowed out a bit - no more red mist for me... - still very much planning on forced induction, though
