Got in at 4AM doing a belated birthday celebration in Marin. Lots of great music in Fairfax. GE Smith from Sat. Night Live band was playing in a band called Moon Alice at 19Broadway, and Honey Dust was playing at Peri's. Fairfax is an amazing town for music. So once again I'm a no-show at SR. :-(

Slept in, showed up late at 11:30, suprised it was still packed, good turnout. Brought the lady and did some shopping, though, so didn't talk to more than a couple folks.

Parked next to a storm titanium elise on the top of a parking garage at the mall later in the day

I was there for a bit, then some guy in a yellow mustang tried to sell me some liquid tonic.
I'm not going to go anymore unless there are specific events scheduled afterwards.

Liquid tonic?? Hilarious. I saw DEF pull-in as I was leaving for my drive - went up to Skyline, then 84 to 1 and had lunch in Half Moon Bay - beautiful day and not too many people on the road.

Next time I will make sure we schedule a joint drive beforehand.

Cheers!

I'd be up for a real meet and drive if it were planned ahead of time, and if the weather is good...

How would you guys feel about a "post-Valentines" drive on 2/15? I'll organize/lead if there is interest.

I'll get right on that . On a different note, I just signed up for a track day on 2/15 at Sears Point so I won't be able to lead a drive on 2/15. Maybe on 2/16 instead?

Cheers,

It's with NASA. They actually offer 2/14 and 2/15 at Infineon Raceway but I can only make it on 2/15. Hope to see you there

Sears Point is a really fun track. It's also rather technical and very unforgiving. Make sure you've got a good handle on the proper lines. Once you've got that down the speed will come.

I've been at Infineon about 10 times, and it's a really fun track with so many elevation changes. But a couple of my friends have met painful end to their day by pushing it too much in certain places. I definitely agree that it's not a forgiving track, and working your speed up slowly is essential!

But unfortunately, I won't be attending if it's NASA. I've had bad experiences with NASA with aggressive/idiot drivers causing trouble on the track and the organizers being too slow to react to the situation. I've heard they are better now though.

Sorry to continue the threadjack... I promise I will stop after this post. I signed up for HPDE1 since I am a rookie and as such I will be with an instructor which should keep me out of trouble

Thanks for the advice!

I'm gonna go check this out tomorrow since I don't have any plans. I'll probably get there around 11. Is it usually over by then?

Usually that's an OK time to get there, some may have left. But it sounds like tomorrow, there will be a big group heading out for a drive around 10:30 headed to the SC mountains and lunch in santa cruz. May want to try to get there around 10:20 if possible!

I don't know most of the people going, but saw it on another forum. Doubt I'll be able to show up tomorrow either.. weather will be nice too, 72 and sunny in santa cruz.

Santa Cruz? A bit too far in the wrong direction for me... but I think I will go tomorrow, probably 9:30-9:45 or so...

I would be willing to join anyone on a drive who wants to head north-ward hehe
