I was a follower till we got to the top of 9, then led us to alice's. You were in the GT3 yet we were all gone? Well, I don't know porsche's very well ... but what I'm calling a GT3 was the very very loud black porsche with the wing that had 'GT3' cut into it. It had a stripped interior and a CF hood. Anyway, that back porsche (whatever it was) was on the drive and was amazing. The drive consisted of 3 elise's, the lambo, Yin's car, a black 360 spyder, monster porsche. It came together really fast and people hopped into their cars and off we went. Skyline was dead empty, cept for one officer we sent diving for his car; those in the back of the group got hit with Ka; but of course we just looked fast and weren't speeding or anything so no tickets for anyone.

Perhaps a better drive warning is in order for next time. Gonna get that oil leak fixed?

Sounds like you guys had loads of fun up Skyline. Awesome! I was in the blue GT3 taking another feller out for a test run. He currently has a 996 but wished to know how wicked a stock GT3 could be . The black GT3 CUP that went with you guys is really a race car ... don't follow him too closely when he brakes!

Part already ordered.

Here are some pics from the event, reposted from F-Chat. I think there's one with Apkom and Kiyoshi in it somewhere ...

Ya know ... I think lots of people actually want to go for a drive at the conclusion (10am) of the meets. The crowd that Doma led up HWY 35 are SR regulars and always ask me if there was a drive planned. Unfortunately, I can't always go on these drives but you guys can! The HWY 9 -> HWY 35 -> HWY 84 -> I280 route is nice, scenic and fun. I'm sure if you posted here and/or F-Chat that you'll lead the drive on the "usual route", you'll get plenty of positive responses.

I led one a few weeks ago, and we stopped for lunch at Bucks in Woodside.

Yes, we can be seen in the last photo, Apkom, LarryB & I are standing in front of my Elan.

I think my Elan was the smallest car there with certainly the smallest engine & tires.

Cheers,
Kiyoshi

Is there anyone planning to go next week and up for a drive. Sounded like a lot of fun. I haven't gone there lately because the 2 times I go people are checking out the cars, then everyone leaves around 10:00. It's a 60+ minute drive down and early, it's just not worth it to show and go.

Next week is labour day weekend - not sure if that means the turnout will be better or worse, but for me it means I will be in Tahoe

I'd love to join the "usual" drive during one of the following weeks, though.

It's every Sat. Turnout fluctuates. ~9:15 seems to be a point of critical mass ... but the 8 -> 10 range is still the broad target I think.

I think I'll make it. Planning to do 9 to 35 to 84 again as well.

I went this morning, my first time! A lot of nice cars came, including a red enzo. I met a lot of nice people, including Wasabi who was the only other lotus owner who showed up! I guess you guys are all planning on going to the PA british meet tomorrow?

Dang - missed the Enzo again - why do I always oversleep when it really matters?

CStetter - you did miss a good one. The Enzo was one of the many SR'ers who did the 9->35->84 run

Here's a pic off F-Chat at the "halfway mark" (junction of 9 and 35 parking lot).

Dang, why does my wife always manage to have something planned for "us" on Saturday mornings? Next I'm off on a trip to England so it won't be until sometime in October I'll have a chance to meet up in Santana Row again. I hope the weather doesn't get too bad by then.

Does anyone plan on making it down to SR tomorrow?
I haven't been able to pry myself away from the couch the last few saturdays since college football season has began, but there aren't any major games tomorrow, so I might make the trip down.

I won't be able to make it tomorrow because I'll be down at the Golden Gate Lotus Club's auto-x in Marina.
