LOG26 Tech Inspection - Will I fail?
Am I going to fail the tech inspection if I have a chip missing from the inside of my windshield where my review mirror used to be? This isn't really a 'windshield crack' per my thinking.
Is it going to be necessary to mount a review mirror to pass tech inspection? I just got my Valentine1 remote display mounted into my dash and when I went to adjust my mirror when I picked up my car the mirror fell off the windshield. I've got the mounting glue to put the mirror back on, but since it doesn't do much (Exige and I've got multivex mirrors that help me see behind the car) I was thinking of leaving it off. Any ideas?

I can't answer the question, but I'll say that I've run without my mirror in an HPDE and nobody ever said anything at all. If you ask me, a chip is not the same thing as a crack, but I'm not a tech inspector. One of the hand signals is tapping your mirror to indicate to the driver behind you that you do see him and will give a pass at the next opportunity. I pointed out that I don't have a mirror. They hesitated responding. I pointed out that even if I did have one, nobody driving behind an Exige was likely to see such a hand signal through my rear hatch. They agreed and said don't worry about it. xtn
