The car gets (hopefully) new rear axle carrier bushings, a carb rebuild, new plugs, and maybe some interior stuff.
I think Mike is talking about your dads Elan

If you saw the Elan my dad was probably just running into the post office to drop something off. But as far as I know the headlights still work, but the vacuum isn't functioning properly so the lights are up most of the time.

But the blue BMW turns 41 this Sunday, not the Elan!

so is it going to rain on sunday? not rain?

steve martin as harris k. telemocker in the film LA Story: "we were going to have rain in beverly hills, but city council voted against it, so no rain tomorrow."

Forecast is rain through Saturday night early Sunday morning then part sunny but cold.

If it's dry and sunny at 8:30 I might make it for a coffee at MDR.

Thanks

The very first post of the thread from long, long ago has the details (it's worth noting that the time does seem to have drifted later and later to more like 'meet@9:00am / Leave @who knows when'! - on a nice sunny day there can be anything from just a couple of cars to quite a crowd, not sure how many will turn out on a wet weekend like this though.

Los Angeles Sunday Drive - meet @8:30AM / Leave @9:00AM [PART 2]
An impromtu gathering of Lotus Cars for fun drives a few hours Every Sunday Morning.

Intrested? Show up or send a private email me..

Meet at Barns and Noble / Coffee Bean parking lot at the corner or Glencoe and Maxella in Marina Del Rey for a Sunday Drive leaving at 9:00AM. (90 Frwy west to Lincoln right to Maxella right to Glencoe Right)

Biggest regret of my life was not bringing it from the UK when I moved here in 2000. It was the 111s with VVT engine. Titanium over red leather. So much fun on the back lanes of Warwickshire.

You would likely have had difficulties registering it here though.

Our Sunday drives are a lot of fun, we have a great group of people, well.. everyone except for the guy with the Ariel Atom. If you see him, don't look him directly in the eyes, don't ask questions about the car, don't speak to him unless spoken to first and what ever you do, don't touch him (we're not sure where he's been)!

Bring me a cookie, or a very hot woman and I'll be nice. Just don't drive slowly or ask stupid questions.

That's just what we need, another Brit! What makes them all leave and come over here - can't be the weather, have you seen what it's like outside today?

My brother is coming out to visit next week and it's snowing there now so watch out for snow in the South Bay in a few days time.

I got my car fixed I think, it was quite the ordeal. I will probably make it for coffee, but I don't think the roads are going to be any good for driving

Good news on the car - was that you near Northrop Grumman & Manhattan Beach Blvd this evening?
