Mark your calendars! On February 9th & 10th, 2013 Lotus of Newport Beach in conjunction with Lotus of San Diego & Lotus Cars USA, Inc. will host the Lotus Evora IPS Road Show-Test Drive program. This program is geared towards customers interested in the new Evora IPS transmission, those on the fence but want a better understanding of the new transmission or simply people interested in the Evora in general but never had the opportunity or time to take a real test drive. Alcohol & beverages will be provided by Lotus of Newport Beach & San Diego while food provided by last seasons champion on the Food Network, Soho Tacos! If you want to attend, please send me message through Lotus Talk so that I can get a head count.

Thanks Ramtin although I knew someone would bring that up.

If your spouse or significant other wants to chill out while you're drive, rather than have them sit or play with their smart phone, they can eat, drink and mingle while you're out.

I don’t understand the philosophy in a car dealership not affording test drives. How do they expect you to pay $65-90K for a car that you can’t drive?

I made an appointment with my dealer when I went to buy mine. The salesman did not have an S to drive but gave me the keys to an N/A and told my wife and me that he filled the tank for us. All he asked was that I try to return it within 5 hours as he would be closing then. Now that is what I call a real test drive. (We were only gone about 20 minutes but I gave him my order deposit when I returned.)

Anyway, sounds like a fun dealer event. Too bad I'm 3000mi away..

So are you taking any steps to ensure that anyone drinking is not also driving? This all sounds highly irresponsible and like a liability nightmare.

This ain't Newport's first rodeo and I am pretty sure they got their lawyers to do up some long drawn out list of rules to avoid liability.

Besides, they can make you sign all the waivers they want and you can still crash due to whatever else is in the works.
