Thanks for the invite Randy. Tomorrow will be my first day off in two weeks. I've had work conferences, travel, and meetings on the weekends lately so I will only be able to spare a few hours. Need to use the rest of the day to catch up on chores, and life in general. Next time? Have yourself a blast!

How early are you thinking? I'm a bit gun shy after my last Palomar experience (CHP run in) but if it's early enough I might join in

Typical meeting spot when we hit Palomar has been on Rancho Bernardo Rd. at the corner of Pomerado Rd. We meet in the Albertson's parking lot. There's Starbucks as well in that shopping center in case you need Java before hitting the road.

6:30am'ish is perfect!

There's a possibility a couple others might head out east. I'll check back later and see where everyone is gravitating....

How about meeting at Steele Canyon High School (12440 Campo Rd) for a no later than 6:45am start? South route ending in Lake Cuyamaca or Julian?

Does that sound good to everyone or do you prefer the Rancho Bernardo start?

This morning

Nice meeting you this morning Craig!

We had a nice jaunt from the high school through some backroads to Sunrise highway then to Julian. The weather was perfect and the scenery was beautiful. Stopped for breakfast and headed back on Wynola Rd and Old Julian Highway. Other than being caught behind a truck on Old Julian Highway it was fairly smooth sailing. Felt like I lost my Lotus mojo though after missing so many drives but hopefully it will come back soon!!

I'll be out of town next weekend but hope to get out on the roads againg on Nov 8th.

Have a good Sunday everyone!

Time for a N. County start...

Anybody up for either Saturday or Sunday, starting in N. County like ealier this past summer?

I'm pretty game and flexible on the day, just the earlier in the morning the better. And with the time change, it's light purty darn early in the morning.

We can discuss route via PM or at the lot in the morning. Maybe even some breakfast too, individual call on that though...

The next couple of weekends are not likely for me. Needed to get of the office today and take a solo drive. Nice route included Mesa Grande and Mt. Palomar. Changed it up a bit and went up the east grade. Forgot how fun that side is.

Enough of this sillyness

Ok, 2 quick "no's". I get it already...

Seriously, let's turn the tide, get some momentum going, and make it happen.

Ilir, good luck with the pending birth and all. Going to have to find a way to fit the child seat in the lotus and disable the airbag...

Paul, I am with you on how fun East Grade is. A bit of rough pavement and expansion joints every now and then, but an awesome combination of tight and medium turns with some decent little straights in between to let the car run a bit. Sorry that you're occupied the next couple of weekends.

Things for most of us will be getting more hectic, I'm guessing, with the holidays coming on and all.

All the more reason to get in the drives on these last couple of weekends before we kiss 2009 goodbye.

Hope to see some of you out there.

Thanks. By the way, what child seat? He's getting his own Lotus before Christmas, that's how we roll in da hood...

We all need to add Banner Grade to our repertoire. Did it on the way to Vegas for SEMA/WCLM on Tues afternoon. Recently paved and a lot of fun.

Now that's one tight road for a couple of miles. I would imagine that even 2nd gear could be too tall for some of those corners. Certainly worth a quick jaunt out and back from Julian. Would be a nice addition, I agree wholeheartedly.

Sunday?

I'm game but can only do Sunday. Throwing in a little banner grade would be a nice change!
