Try down Banner and up Montezuma.

Now that is something to consider. And on the way between the two, we could do some laps around the Borrego Springs Christmas Circle!

This would add some time to the drive, but if breakfast were limited to snack bars or something (like donettes and milk, perhaps?), it could be feasible to still make it home in the morning hours.

I'm game. And I've not driven the Exige on Montezuma yet , that would be quite fun.

Donuts and milk!

We just need an earlier start. It's pretty much a half day drive. Starting from the north and we can arrive to breakfast around 730am and then down the grade.

reaching critical mass

Well, this is looking better now. I'm ready to commit to a drive this Sunday 11/8.

630am at the SW corner of Pomerado and Rancho Bernardo Road.

Adam in the yellow Ferrari 348 is also planning to make it. If both Lisa and Chris make it, that's a solid 4 cars.

I'd really like to do Banner Grade, and am also planning on getting to Montezuma unless the group really balks. The weather in Borrego is supposed to be low 80's for the high, meaning we'll see perfect 70 degree weather and sunny for the morning run through. If we keep breakfast simple, or forego it, we should be back to N County before Noon.
Let me know if you're coming or not so we don't wait around unnecessarily, thanks.

If I am still up at 6:30 after a night out tonight, I'll definitely go. I only have few weeks here before going on a long journey. I'll definitely miss my Elise.

This looks like the group my neighbor called me about last night. Would have liked to join but, couldn't make it today. Good thing I got this route in on a Thursday solo run.

Looks like you had a good group this morning. Looking forward to tomorrows (Sundays) drive! See whoever can make it at 630am at the Rancho Bernardo meeting spot.

Great drive last weekend! Highland Valley, Old Julian Hwy, Wynola, Banner Grade (down), Yaqui Pass, Christmas Circle , Montezuma, Banner Grade (up). Then we split up. Solo'd Mesa Grande, East Grade, South Grade, then 76 all the way to the beach in O-Side, took Coast Hwy home. What a great morning, home before Noon.

Here's some pics. Hope we gather again soon.

New tires, must drive tomorrow

I'll be at the usual spot tomorrow 11/15 at 630am in case anyone is up for a drive.

SW Crner of RB Road and Pomerado

I'm heading out for a drive, gotta break in the new tires on something other than freeways.

Weekend before last

This is a really delayed post....but wanted to thank you guys for a great drive on the 8th!! The weather and the route were perfect. I love that grade down to Banner Pass!

My friend slowly recovered on the way back to the meeting spot, LOL! Thanks for your patience with the long stop in the desert, it probably saved the interior of my car

Here are a couple of pictures......
