Wish me luck......going to try to figure it out in the morning.
Best thing to do is get a code reader and find out what caused the engine light. It could be something simple; let me know if you need to borrow a code reader...

I'm thinking we should have at least 3, but preferably 4 to 5 to make this a go, the more the merrier. And as long as we start at 7am like usual, we'll be out of there before the temps get unbearable. Forecast for Julian is 76 degress at 9am, which is perfect weather for the drive.

Let's make it happen peoples . Lots of fence sitters. Seems like the only folks who have stated they can "for sure" make it are me and Lisa.

Who else is in? Let's do this thing.
Wish I could make it, really want to go for a drive but out of town... Hope you all have a good drive!

Sorry, had to work Saturday - Sunday. I tried to recruit another Lotus driver on Wednesday, but I haven't seen him post yet. (Bolter...give a shout out when you read this.)

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the offer! Rodney told me to let it dry out and start over and over again the next morning. The fast idle was gone that morning, and by the 6th start the light went off. I drove it around quite a bit on Sunday just to be sure all was good. Not sure what happened but I can tell you it scared the out of me!

I'm in! I NEED a drive. Missed about 3 weeks now and I'm going through withdrawals. I'm game for an earlier start if we can get some other folks to rally. Come on folks, summer is a wastin'!

I'd guess you might have gotten some water under the engine cover or into the electronics... it's usually not a big deal, but I'd avoid spraying water directly through the engine hatch.

The code is probably still stored in the ECU... if you're curious, you can still read the code and find out what caused the engine light...

OK, thanks for the advice. The weird thing was the idling was off before I washed it but that may have been just a coincidence. If you come on the drive tomorrow morning maybe we can check it out with your decoder. Thanks again!

Who else is in? Andy, are you in? How about a compromise Rod, 7 or 7:30 instead of 6am?

Ali, are you still in? Corner of Rancho Bernardo Dr. and Pomerado Rd. at 7:30am,if others can make it, or if it's just you and me Ali, let's leave at about 6:30'ish??

Anyone else out there want to join in on the fun?

If I'm not out too late tonight, I'm in... but the chances of that are... small

CHP - 3, San Diego Sunday Drivers - 0

My little yellow paper reads 62 in a 55 Zone, with the "no front license plate" bonus thrown in.

How'd the rest of you fare?

Considering what I've been doing with this car on public roads for the last four years, I consider myself lucky to get off with the 62 MPH.

See ya next weekend

Mike

Ha! same thing. I slammed on my brakes when my detector started warning me. But he did pick a good spot, I doubt I shaved any speed off braking. By the time I was on the brake I was in full view, that corner was tricky.

The last couple of times I've gone out it's cost me. Last time it was the windshield now it's this. It's not the maintenance that kills you it's everything else!

Whata bummer. You pay to play I guess.

Same here but I could swear mine says 62 in a 35 instead of 55. His handwriting is hard to read. Sure would be nice if it says 55 instead of 35!! The fix it ticket for the front plate is almost more irritating than the speeding ticket!! Ugh! Oh well, it was a fun drive and I was expecting tht to happen some day, good to hear Mike's managed to go for four years without a ticket
