I've gone though this with other threads on other forums. I highly doubt they are looking. There's plenty of speeders out in these areas on the weekends.

Most likely head towards Palomar, but maybe we'll throw in a little Julian/Banner Grade route, who knows...
Either you had a good run or you're in jail!

No jail or police, just perfect weather, a nice breakfast in Julian, and my dad (passenger) got a chance to drive the car for the first time.

I was a bit nervous, but he drove very well and really enjoyed the opportunity to take it through some twisty sections.

The only thing missing was more Lotuses!

I have missed the drives the last few weeks, this past weekend two days at Willow Springs main track. Hope to see you all this coming Sunday. However I may be driving a bit slower...

Any early birds for this Sunday? So far we've got:

CF Elise Turbo ('05)
S2000 Turbo ('04?)
Porsche Boxster S ('08)
BMW M3 ('04)

Very good mix of cars...could use some more Lotus representation (or Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos

Gonna head out from the 8 in east county...no location set as these other guys are not on the forum...meet at around 5:30 AM? ?

Decisions...

Surfing or driving, hmmm....

If my surf buddy is up for driving instead, count me in.

Just advise where on the 8 we're meeting. Looking forward to trying a southern route.

Preemptive notice - the car is DIRTY.

You think your car is "DIRTY"... after spending two days at Cal Speedway, I now have more rubber on the clam than on the wheels!

No way I will make 0530, the sun isn't even up yet.

Suggestion:
 1. Meet at Steel Canyon HS
 2. Take 94 to Lyons Valley Road
 3. Follow the signs (not always straight)
 4. Turn LEFT on LYONS VALLEY RD
 5. Turn RIGHT on LYONS VALLEY RD
 6. Turn RIGHT on SKYLINE TRUCK TRL
 7. Turn RIGHT on LAWSON VALLEY RD
 8. Turn LEFT on LYONS VALLEY RD
 9. Turn RIGHT on JAPATUL VALLEY RD

Surf it is

Ali,

I'm out for the drive tomorrow. Water's still super warm (and my buddy wasn't so keen on the "driving" idea, but what does he know ), so I need to take advantage of that while it still lasts.

Have a great drive and we'll connect on the next one!

Today's drive went very well actually...CALtd, thanks so much for your route, lots of twisties...neither the boxster S or M3 could keep up

The Boxster S was hanging through turn exists while the M3 had more power through the straights but all in all, I wouldn't trade the Elise for either of them. We switched cars and the M3 (with paddle & SMG seq shift) felt like a Cadillac in comparison. The Boxster felt equally bloated (3300lbs?) with all the creature comforts. Maybe I'm a little extreme (and bias) with the carbon, race seats, and stripped Elise

By the time we made it to around Campo it was 6AM and no cars (or cops). On the way back through the 78W, there was backed up traffic from road construction so the drive down was painfully slow. All in all, had breakfast up there and we were out of sight by ~9:30AM...I had the rest of the day!

Anyone else take a drive?

I'm out, as I'll be in Vegas Fri/Sat and at the Coronado Speed Festival on Sunday.

If anyone out there has suggestions for alternate routes to/from Vegas that are more scenic and less traffic plagued than the I-15, please shoot a PM. I'm taking the Exige and would like to do something other than stop-and-go for miles on end.
