Can you just buy the tires online and have it shipped to Newport European then you just go there for installation? Might save few $$.

Just curious, why don't you do it at Symbolic?

There's a place on Miramar Rd called Performance tire.

http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/show...t=miramar+tire

I took my Elise there and dropped Lillie Jaffe's name and got great service. They used a hand jack, one side at a time...treated the car with care and respect.

I just bought new rears from tirerack ($500 for two rear 048 and shipping) and then went over to C2 motorsports (race show) were they were professionally mounted and balanced (about $15-20). But if you want to do this then you have to either remove the wheels, or go the C2 and jack the car up there, removing one wheel at a time. If you have any questions pm me

Did they torque the wheels to 77 foot pounds? if so, I'm there, dude! That's like 4 minutes away from my house. I'll give them a call.

They did not until I asked them when I needed a tire rebalanced, but they did it for free. Retorqued it at home anyway to be sure. But the guy who jacked up the car and removed the wheel was very careful. A different guy replaced the wheel, so perhaps that is why...

I'd trust them, and also C2 Motorsports. The latter is a small shop, but Steve always gives very personalized attention. He's also a great driving instructor.

I'm gonna wake up tomorrow at 7am, look out the window and log on to the weather channel. If there are any signs of rain, I'm not going.

No signs of rain. I'm going.
If no one else shows, I'll drink some coffee and go test drive some random cars instead....

I could tell it had rained last night when I woke, but it was plenty dry for a good drive.

Good to see you Luke. Nice to meet you finally gameson.

Any one going tomorrow morning? I am going for a drive no matter what (unless it rains), and a VW GTI friend of mine is tagging along. If anyone else is going please post/pm because then I will swing by the usual meeting place between 8:30-9:00. Otherwise if no one is going then I will head straight into the twisty back roads, .

From what I heard from today's meet in Carlsbad outlet, most likely there are not going to be meet. We just head out to Palomar mountain and Julian today after the morning meet with 2 996 GT3, 1 997 CS conv, 1 EVO VIII, 1 pontiac GTO, 1 E46 M3, and 6 Elises.

You should have come today. It was fun.
