Here's a map of today's great drive drive. It was longer than normal but starting earlier was a plus. I got home in time for lunch.

One of my favorite drives. I have it on topo with elevation changes.

Jeph (w/ Mom), Hayseed, and myself. I estimate we went over 200 miles. We could have cut 10-15 minutes out of the trip if we wanted to do 125mph in the desert and on 8. No one really wanted to get a ticket so speed was reasonably capped by our fearless leader.

Only bad part of the planning was gas was $3.17/gal; but for 5 gals, it doesn't really matter that much.

If I can wake up on the next drive, I will go. I agree about speeding, it's not worth it. I am fighting my ticket right now and still ongoing, even though I wasn't speeding.

Which drive is more fun? the regular mesa grande etc or this one?

If you want to know more about where to go for a drive in San Diego County, look at the map at the following link. The map includes annotations that indicate what the nature of the road is.

Yes, I remember...you were faster than most of us and probably should have won the race!

I don't even mind if non-Lotus E cars join us. Compatibility of driving style and safety is my main concern. I am usually the slowest so always start out at the back of the pack.

LOL! I was just going to post to watch out for DH. He's very, very fast and would have one that race had he not been taken out by a schummi move.

Im not much into racing around on the streets or being reckless. Anyone whos on my rear bumper is welcome to past. I doubt i can keep up with the elises anyways on tight roads. I just wanted to do some spirted driving on some nice majestic roads.

I hope i can make it this sunday.... my wife has the last call on this because we have a newborn to tend to.

havent been able to do much driving this year and feel the need to scratch this itch... button, WS and fontuckey are distant memories and local auto-X's are just way too much time for a few laps in 2nd gear.

Go Chelsea

thanx but i dont think im that fast...been on the tracks with guys that karted before they learnt how to ride a bicycle. they past me like i was painted on the tarmac.

well u know who took me out right? he hates losing to me at anything ... i had to chug down a couple of beers during lunch because my ribs and knees where bruised. I dont think he braked at all @ the end of the straight when he T-boned me.

I didnt mean to pull into the pits, i was lookin for away to do a u turn to take him out but I thought otherwise...lol We laughed about it afterwards. Well it was my fault in the end, if i knew it was him i behind me, i would have driven differently.
