Rod, I think I will hold off on the HID for about 5000 miles - I want to get new headlamp covers out of Lotus before the warranty runs out, as the stock bulbs have melted my black finish inside the lamps. If I convert to HID, they will deny the repair. But it would still be great to see you tomorrow morning...

Just depends which route is preferred. I am thinking Starbuck's at Del Mar Heights shopping center if we do a shorter ride through RSF and then to Encinitas for breakfast. If it's to Julian then how about the mobile station on the 56 and Camino del Sur. Either way, I prefer an early start, 630am. Roads are nicer and easier for me to get away. I'll check back in the morning.

Luke, how much later would you prefer. If we are talking 30 mins are so then I am fine with that. I am still in the run in stage with my car anyway.

Let's go with 0700 if you do not mind. I will let you and Rodney hash out the meeting place. As long as you post it here some time soon...

I am thinking of joining you guys, but 0700 is too early for me. Meeting in La Jolla is no problem.

Fixed the car, but 7 is way too early for me. Will probably go for a short backroad drive around 9-9:30. Dont mind the heat that much, need to test how well the supercharger holds up to higher temperatures anyway.

gotcha... like Paul, I too find it much easier to get away that early, so...

I'll check this thread again early tomorrow. If Paul or Rod name a PLACE TO MEET at 0700, I will be there. Otherwise, all who are willing, meet at THE USUAL PLACE at the USUAL TIME (leave at 0900 from the Starbucks at Rancho Bernardo and Pomerado).

WoHoo! Starbucks!

It's 620am! Luke, Rod are you ready to go? I'll check back in a little. Going to have some coffee and watch the start of the F1 race.

Right now, the backroads of SDC are plugged with motorhomes and pick-ups towing toyboxes back from the desert on Sunday afternoons. At the height of the summer, when its 110F in the desert, the evening may be a good time, but right now the roads are full on Sunday evenings.

With summer approaching, I prefer to drive when the weather is from hot to cold (evening) as opposed to from cold to hot (morning) as usually it takes few hours to drive. I remember usually it's from 9 AM and I am home by 1:30 PM (~4 hours).

any one up for a drive early tomorrow?

its summer, and great weather so there is no reason not to come.
But drive has to be over before 11:30, because germany is playing in the euro final.

Mike,

I'm up for it.

Where and when do you want to meet.

Mike

Because of the Euro 08 final, maybe next week. Usually we start the drive around 9 AM, so 2 hours drive is not enough...

I was thinking that we meet at the usual spot at around 8:15 and leave by 8:30. (dont mind going earlier, but if other people are joining these times might be more reasonable)
And gameson, if we leave by 8:30 that gives us 3 hours until 11:30 (kick off isn't until 11:40-11:45ish). The usual palomar route takes about 2.5 hours. Plus, I'm not going to miss my home country playing in the finals, so i will definantly make sure that we get back in time.

I'll be there at 8:15.

I am assuming the usual spot is Rancho Bernardo just south of HVRd.
