Glad everyone had a good time. Well accept Sean. I think I'll be wearing long pants in the future. That was a vicious crash. I wasn't watching, but the bang was crazy. Really glad to hear you and Jeff were OK.
Murix, I was just giving you a hard time. Good luck at the track.

Crap, I was knocked out all day and forgot this was today. I'm out with a flu like symptom since. I think I got it when I attended the Star Trek Movie premiere.
![]() I just not got the email you sent me on Friday Jacob, sorry.

Bumping
I'm not sure what to do about the bumping. After the driver meeting I was asked if we should say something about trying to keep bumping down and I thought we were all experienced enough to avoid over bumping. But from what I heard from spectators that was not the case. We ALL need to be more conscience about keeping the bumping down and making cleaner passes (myself included, sorry Eddie). This track was a difficult track to pass on so I get why it was a little rough out there.
I also saw a couple of drivers not moving over when given the blue passing flag and it wasn't just one or two times. This was done in the qualifying laps. If this becomes a problem the drivers will not be invited back to the next event. It doesn't make sense to block in qualifying. It's all about time not what order you come in. I like that this is kind of casual event and would like to keep it that way. I really really don't want to have to start policing what people do. That just takes the fun out of it for me. I also need people to be a little more diligent on showing up and on time. We had almost 40 people signed up for the event on Thursday night. I think only 24 people showed for the event. This makes us look bad to the karting facility. They block time out for us and I call in amounts a few days before to confirm. We have some clout from these places, because we can show up and have a good turn out. But when everyone starts bailing or just don't show up. We lose that clout. Off my soup box. |

Ouch! But very well said.
Re the bumping, I did hit someone harder than I planned, it was supposed to be a 'hey move over I need to pass and you are ignoring the blue flag sort of tap" but I overdid it and got a 'no bumping' sign from one of the track marshals. I imagine most of us are guilty to some degree and should be aware of the image we create if we want to be welcomed back. Getting there on time is just a common courtesy to Jacob. If Jacob puts in all the effort to organise and event like this and asks us to be there and ready to go at 1:30 lets be there and ready to go at 1:30. |

The insta-torque battery motors make it harder to do a gentle tap there, how was the surface? made them handle better?

There was def some bumping but most of it was due to the track layout. It was almost impossible to make a clean pass.
Here's a vid a took. The kart was very dirty so the suction cup on the camara mount didn't stick very well and the camera was knocked off in the first lap when I was slamed against the wall after bumping someone. Luckly the K1 employees got some more footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOnvl1NQNwo
