Sorry guys but I am going to miss out on Tuesday. I am going to head north (PA) on Monday to visit family. I am going to try and stay ahead of the rain showers. Maybe next year now that I know about it. Adam.

Looks like I will be driving the BMW to this, serves me right for being so AR about maintenance and then having to order parts to get my car operational again

Oh well, at least I have a car to drive and can still come to see other Loti and meet some owners

That was the worst weather I've driven through in a long time. My Nav said we reached 6420 ft elevation and I'd say we were in the clouds for at least an hour. Between the leaves, pouring rain, fog, and wind gusts I was expecting a freak snow storm to finish off the day. We need the rain so I shouldn't complain.

At one point, at the dragon's tail, the 10 of us came around a corner (moderate speed) to find a semi truck and trailer blocking the road. I'm not sure how we all managed but no one wrecked. I came about 4" from hitting DaddyD and all I could see what the roof of an Elise in my rear view. Great driving by everyone! I've been driving for 12 hours today so I'm keeping this brief. Had a great time with everyone....I wish I could have stayed for lunch...I mean dinner.

We drove through a tornado spawning storm on the way home, good times- at least the rain washed the leaves and dirt off from the mountain drive.

Maybe next year I won't decide to do last minute maintenance and will get to bring the Lotus, the 4000 lb BMW wasn't too bad but I'm sure the Lotus would have been more fun.

One interesting thing to note about driving in conditions like this with lots of blowing, wet leaves. Keep note of your temperature gauge. The leaves quickly coat the front grill and block air to the radiator. I was seeing temperatures around 217 degrees and then cleared the grill. The temps dropped 25 degrees in a matter of minutes.
