Best/favorite place to mount ChaseCam...

What is your best/favorite place to mount ChaseCam when you are not running a hard top?

I usually put it front and center of the hardtop but am thinking of removing the top for tomorrow's autocross.

So, where do you mount your ChaseCam?

TIA

Mine is on the windshield just to the right side of the micro mirror - works well and does not block sight lines.

Good spot. never had ChaseCam though. Where is the microphone located?

What cause you to spin a 360 in the video, lift the throttle?

I often put one with a suction cup behind the mirror. You can barely see it there so very little blocking sight lines. OR... I put on dead center on the harmess bar. OR... I suction cupped one to the roll hoop cover...or to the front middle of the hardtop... and finally, I had one in the front grill on the tow hook. Actually not finally.. just remembered we had it a number of times on the side of the car looking at the tires. One time on the rear quarter panel looking at the driver from behind. A couple times on the suspension looking at shock travel.

But for street, I almost always had a camera in the Elise behind the stock mirror.

A good way to see the driver and course in the open top Elise is to put it in the middle of the roll hoop cover and angle it down so it sees thru the windshield and also over it. The wide angle will also pick up the driver.

The Mic is in the Chasecam itself which is in the Driver side cubby storage hole (or whatever its called).

Spin happened because I early apexed the corner by about 10-15 feet, which caused me to dial in a bit more steering than normal and then when I hit the bumps just past apex it unsettled the car enough to bring the rear out. If you watch the video again you can hear that I did not lift until the rear was past the point of catching the spin. This is one of those rare occasions where you can spin a lotus without lifting.

Mount to the Track Pack harness bar using Randy's roll bar mount + a couple of extensions to bring it to about eye level - I like this view for the track because I can see what I'm doing with my hands

See my signature

Video using a Chasecam: http://ww.chasecam.com

Data logged using Race Technology DL-1 with additional input for RPM, Throttle Position, Brake: http://www.race-technology.com

Integrate the two using Trackvision: http//www.trackvision.net

All three of these play together really, really well
