This was a course tailor-made for an EVO school graduate. Thank you Sam Strano, Dave Newman and Steve Rosenberg!! It was wet/slick, it was slow, and looking ahead and not over-driving were premium. A very technical course. Crudson and AJ made it a 1-2-3 Elise finish in SS! I'm surprised the morning FTD stood because it dried out as the day went on.

But I just know Brian or Perry or Pat or your name here woulda whupped me. Oh well, seat tim seat time seat time...

Hey Jerry, congrats on jumping over Scott into 2nd place for the year in Phila!

A couple more races and you might be able to catch Frank! Way to go!

Scott and I were just talking about that. It'd be a hollow victory to beat Frank on attendance, but that's all we can hope for---this year. We'd love to actually beat him on course at least once in October, because that would legitimize, at least a bit, winning the seasonal championship. Although I don't think it'll happen this year, it is definitely my goal.

There's always next year, with a LSD too! Beating Frank also would mean that whoever did it was approaching competitiveness at the National level. That's a big step, and my legs aren't long enough yet. Maybe Scott can do it. PAXing in the top 10 consistently would be a good start, too.

Don't "short sell" a regional or local championship. To win one, or to trophy, requires a certain dedication and commitment that many do not have. Skill plays a big part of it, but being there and competing is the big thing. It's about local competition!

Do you realize that Lance Armstrong only won one leg of each of the last two years' Tour d'France 23 races to become the champ? And he could have won the title this year without ever winning a leg. Your have to show up to win a local title, and those that do deserve the victory and the recognition. That's what the local title is about. Just about everybody would lose to Junior if he showed up, but being the Phila. SS champ, or even trophying would be something to be proud of, in my opinion. It means something, and I'll bet you Frank wont let it go without a fight!

Now I wish someone would show up in S. Jersey....

Hey, Jer: check out my sig.

We all have a ways to go before we can claim to be a better driver than Frank, but you can still win the championship and be proud of that. Part of being a local champion is being commited enough to the region's series; don't discount that.

Anyway, congrats on the FTD! I'm still working on the big mug...

Ted and Evl are completely right. There's no reason to downplay wins/titles. If you drive faster than everybody else who participates in the event, you're the winner, and you deserve it. Getting up early on Sunday morning and actually showing up for events is part of this sport. If you're not there, you lose. This isn't fantasy football where you can win while sitting at home.

Of course if you want to realistically assess your current skill level, you have to take into account who you run against.

Thanks Pat. Where is Monticello Raceway and what's happening there? A web search points to a harness racing track in NY State-but that's all I could find. ??

Jerry, you've got to come up to Jersey before my head gets any bigger! If I keep having weekends like this past one I'll start thinking I'm fast again. I need you go-kart guys to show me how slow I really am! Luckily Brian was down south this weekend!

North Jersey Results

South Jersey Results

TED-ON FIRE! Nice job in NNJR especially, just tweaking Sandro LOL. Hey, Philly is having a non-points event at Warminster on November 7th. Remember that course? Come on down and get that dose of humility you're looking for! That's not too long a drive for you. If Brian shows again he can whip us all.

I'll run more NNJR events next season. I love the Philly region, but I can't get practice at the speeds necessary to compete on National-level courses there. It means longer drives to DC and NNJR and Hershey, but more fun.
