Shocks for Elise in SS?
What are my options for shocks in SS for a 2005 Elise sport-pack?
Hamstrung by the limited front camber adjustment, I need all the help I can get in the body-roll department. Springs are stock of course. I have the big HardCore front swaybar. The factory Bilsteins (sp?) are not stiff enough to slow down the body roll enough to help. I don't want to spend thousands of dollars and deal with remote reservoirs (who's going to overheat shock fluid in an autocross?) What's out there?

I think you're in trouble if you don't want to spend a mint on good shocks... Maybe get the stock ones revalved (my plan for my LSS shocks...)
That said, I am still on my stock shocks (8 years old now) and the stiffer BWR bar (from 2006) and I haven't had too many problems with tire wear... Not wanting to spend $$$ on shocks and LSD/TC led me to Street Touring (My entire car, including really good shocks was less than the PARTS cost to bring my Elise up to the limit of SS...)

The only thing I've found is Bilstein US, but I haven't actually contacted anyone or gotten started. I know that Bilsteins have traditionally been very rebuild friendly, but I don't have any personal experience getting them worked on.

Phil, wasn't Matthew Braun running Motons when he had his elise?
I know Ohlins made an "SS" legal option, a guy I autocross with (lancer360 on here) has them, and he was even complaining that they weren't stiff enough with the blackwatch bar. Might have to ask around to some places, like AST (who now owns Moton), and see if you can drum up some interest in a limited production run of a custom shock setup... I'd be interested in doing that, since I run SS too. I've even got a spare set of the base shocks sitting around. Scapamouche, which ST class are you running? I think in my region the elise is automatically ineligible for any ST classes.

It probably depends on the grip level as to whether or not the Ohlins will work on a SS Elise with the "hardcore" BWR bar. On reasonably grippy tarmac, rear rebound at max is about perfect, so long as your alignment is setup right, and with front rebound set close to minimum. For very grippy concrete, they should probably be re-valved, however.
My opinion, YMMV. -Russ

Sorry.... Didn't mean to be confusing...
I got my autox start in ST, and came back after a couple years in SS. Many reasons, in addition to the cost one above...
