The minimum dimension is stamped or embossed on the rotor. If you do go to ceramic pads be aware that they tend to chew up rotors so when you have to change pads the rotors will have to be cut, assuming there is enough materiel to do so. Ceramics also tend to be "grabby" when cold and do not drive well for street cars. Typically what is usualy sold as ceramics is really a highbred ceramic/metalic mix, with more streetable manners.
