05 elise temperature issue

New to me car. Heats up normally to 180 something, but under higher revs quickly dumps to lower temp than will display and making 2nd cam unusable.

No other indications

Lay it on me, thanks.

Garage
Sounds like either a thermostat problem or something really wrong with coolant level.

Definitely check the coolant level but in the end this is probably the thermostat.

Another vote for a failed thermostat

If I die, my biggest fear is that my wife sells all my toys for the price I told her I bought them for...

You did. I was double checking in case I didn't word it to you correctly. The gentleman in question politely declined. I greatly appreciated what you offered.

Thanks, everyone. Resolution WAS replacing thermostat. The one Installed was the wrong one (runs too cold). Problem resolved.. see you at the track.
