I bet they'll bring them over as a track-day only car like they have with the Exige Cup cars. Sadly since the 2-11 was never street legal here, I don't see why the 3-11 would be...

Lotus will bring the 3-11 here to the US as track only car as they did the 27 2-11s.
If you want one let Lotus know. They will LHD and bring to the USA as many as they can sell here. The cost will be about $135,000-165,000. Honestly at that price only die-hard Lotus junkies will partake. Everyone says they want one but at $150k+ there are loads of capable track only cars out there. That being said, I will add a 3-11 to my Lotus collection next year.

Please please PM me if you honestly mean you want one of these cars. We need as much support as possible to get Lotus NA market back up and running.

i would love one. but at those prices i could not find myself in the market for one. i would much rather get an ariel atom for the price and concept. but they are indeed nice and when they become used they may be more affordable.

Gee you got right on top of this Jay. Know anything about color options (even thought the green/yellow is perfect)?

What are other track only competitors in this price range? Radical?

And, as you've had an Atom, might you compare how different this baby will be?

Anyone can make something complicated. It takes genius to make it simple. Einstein.

I raced the first year in the Spec Race Atom series and know the guys at TMI very well. Seriously let me know if you want an Atom. They are made an hour from my house at VIR by some of the best guys in the business. Mark Swain from TMI would greatly agree that the New Atom is a better car than this at $60k less money. But it is not a Lotus! Again, I go back to the statement that only die-hard Lotus guys will order this car. The above new LT member said he would "be all over this" if could get in the US. However, when you have to part with $165,000 to buy the track only Beast, most will not be "in the market for one."

I think the new Atom will be possibly as fast with less hp.
It does not have a sequential but weighs less with similar downforce.
The deep side cuts in the 3-11 worry me a bit....there will be loads of air flow in there. Lotus does not have the most up to date wind tunnel testing as they no longer use the F1 team's.
Like most Lotuses for the track, I suspect some local mods will be needed. I would actually wind tunnel test this car once it gets here for the heck of it.
Mine will match my 2-11 in black/yellow/silver.

The Radical (whether the SR3 or SR8) is a very light, high downforce car... I'd suspect on tracks with high speed corners and short straights that a Radical would still be faster than the 3-11. OTOH, a Radical SR3 has a practical top speed (depending on aero config) of around 140 mph or so... tracks with long straights and low-speed corners (i.e. a street circuit or similar) would favor the 3-11.

Oh, yeah... I have an SR3, and on most tracks it's quite a bit faster than my 2-11.

But Patrick, they did not tailor a video game around your Radical!!

The Exige Cup with sequential that Jack has is starting to look like at better deal when you start talking $165k!

I haven't had a chance to see Jack's car on track yet... but there's going to be a world of difference in performance between an Exige Cup and a 3-11.

Oh you know...all you West coast guys are the same to us Southern rednecks!
Was it not your 2-11 in the Xbox game? I know nothing about video games by the way....

Agree that this car is a totally different piece of work. I was out with the testing of the 500 hp V8 Atom and at some point there gets just too much hp for a non all wheel drive/minimal downforce car to handle. Of course a buddy of mine just brought his brand new bone stock Z06 to VIR and turned a 2:01 full course on street tires!!
But it still ain't no Lotus!

The Atom is an interesting car... and I'm guessing also fun to drive, but (IMHO) it's not a very good track car (if you're trying to set fast lap times). I'd guess that the 3-11 would easily outpace a 500hp Atom.

I can drive my 2-11 (upgraded hp and diffuser) with two fingers and it takes all ten toes and all ten fingers to drive an Atom at the same pace.

2:01 on street tires? That's pretty hard to fathom.

The "street" tires are very good. The car also has a lot of nannies to help out.

Me with the V6 Exige. Love the look and the specs and would very likely buy one if it were street legal (and under 6-figures). Can't justify it as a track only toy. Heck, I now can't even justify the one I have, which is why it's listed.

It's a safe bet a select few in the US will own the 3-Eleven for track use only. If I should ever see one, I'll be happy.

FYI, at the Festival of Speed, Jean Marc Gales disclosed Lotus has plans to design a rear-engined 9-Eleven within a decade!
