Any Lotus owners in NY ?

I want to test drive a Lotus and experience firsthand what the fuss is about.
(Moderately powered engine in a bare-bones chassis
....the antithesis of the bloated modern muscle car)

I am hoping to meet a local Lotus "car guy" .... who is crazy enough to let a random guy from the internet drive his pride and joy.
I will not drive your car until after I ride shotgun and see how you drive the car, and what RPM's you take the car to.
I am in my 40s. That means my license is clean, my Hagerty insurance is cheap, and I plan to keep it that way.
Of course, I will let you drive my Porsche 911, as a quid pro quo.

Even if your reaction is, "This guy is insane", PM me anyway,
b/c it will be good to know other local car guys (who aren't teenage ricer types)

What year 911? Thinking of doing a swap "down" to a 996. Or "up" to a 996tt. Curious to hear your input on steering input, body control, etc. The more objective driving dynamics.

If you ever want to swap cars, and go for a drive, let me know. I have a 1980s 911.

I've never driven a 996. I hear they are a great car, but some do not give it the love of the "classic" air cooled paradigm. I bet the 996TT is a monster. Your best bet is to just go test drive one, right?
