Question Braintree, MA Mechanic Lotus Sign

No idea if this is a "Lotus" specialist shop or not, but the sign is sure cool.

Anyone know about them?

2011 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Manual
2011 Lotus Evora - Aspen White

Hmm, interesting...I'd be curious. I just recently purchased an Elise and would be looking for a shop. I'm very close to the Aston Martin-Lotus Dealer...but I'm not looking to spend Dealer prices on work performed. Hoping to find a quality independent shop.

EDIT: Looked it up real quick. Only thing I find is a Needham address that is under the name of MC Racing now. That picture looks like its from the street view of the Needham address. I found some reviews dating back to 2002 with references to Lotus.

You know, I was wrong. It is in Needham. Not sure what why I was thinking Braintree... We were on our way to Bin Ends in Needham to collect some wine...

I too live close to Waltham... If you want an alternate to the dealer, Samuels Jaguar in Allston is a good place to go. They've worked on all my Jags and Evora a couple of times. That being said, I have been going to the dealer for most service as it's easier for me. If you own a Jag or older British car; Samuel's is a no brainer. They do not have a clientele of Lotus, but are just solid mechanics that know British cars in general.

The local dealer has much more experience in fixing Lotus, so you save some headache or fixing twice by going to dealer.

Yea I was considering that place in Allston as well.

I actually live in Waltham, so the dealer is super convenient. And while our cars aren't that complicated to work on. It helps to have familiar techs as certain parts of it require special care and attention. I may just end up using the dealer location. Do you find them to be fairly priced on their rates?

The dealer's shop rate for Lotus I believe is $130 an hour? $150 an hour for Aston. $130 an hour you'd pay at Toyota dealer I bet. They have many parts in stock which is nice, they'll usually do some troubleshooting for free and are very careful with the car. That being said, I have had to go back to redo some items, but I don't think they are out to empty your wallet. They seem to be on the level and concerned about getting your car fixed correct.

Samuels can be quite booked, so you have to get them at the right time and big project they may not want to do. I use to live walking distance from Samuels, so I brought any car I owned there. I live in Framingham, so the dealer is actually as close. I plan to buy an Evora 400 or Aston next, so I am expecting/anticipating on getting a good trade-in on my car since they are the one's maintaining it (and also sold it new).

I've been using AMNE-LM for service since I bought my car. They're honest and their prices are fair. The tech that actually works on my car is awesome.

Just had the annual maintenance on my Evora S done at the Aston Martin / Lotus dealer in Waltham last week. Its convenient for me because my company is about a mile away from the dealer.

The bill was higher than at Manhattan motorcars when I went there 2 years ago, but it wasn't unexpected. They gave me a pretty comprehensive report on the car from the computer which I hadn't gotten from any dealer service before (The car has been to Manhattan and the old Steelwings in Princeton) and the service writer seemed friendly.

The next time I'm in the area I'm going to have them install some of the carbon fiber bits I have from HKFever.

I would be interested in a good independent shop for general maintenance though.
