...is general motors doing anything to improve handling for the solstice coupe?..the roadster's been such a promising idea for them to produce, but so disappointing in the details of its execution...

can you say Fiero. GM CEOs thought it was an economy two seater car. The engineers thought it was a great chance to build a cool sports car.

Sounds like the same CEOs that got them to where they are today.

Public is stupid...they will buy our stuff.

After reading how they're losing $10k on each one sold, doesn't sound so promising

I was there yesterday - always a good show, but I think the crowds were definitely lower than previous years, and for the second year in a row, the number of afermarket exhibitors was noticeably smaller. This is not surprising in light of the economy right now.

Loved the Evora I think Lotus has done a very nice job with this model.

On my way back to the car, I took a detour just north of the convention center, to the new Nokia Theater complex, and was really fortunate to see David Cook doing a dry run for his performance later that night for the American Music Awards pre-show. It's not like I'm a huge fan (but my wife is, she was super-jealous that she missed this), but wow he sounded really good, it was fun to stumble on that.

Part of the deal with the aftermarket show is that it is in the Kentia Hall, which gets less traffic and it requires such a huge commitment of time to put a booth there. Did it one year, will not do it again. 11 days of long hours. I think they don't get as much repeat exhibitors there.

There are some very shady dealers in the Lotus business.

Does the SunSpeed S1 Exige have a Honda motor in it? It looks familiar, I was thinking about the motor swap when I saw the car on Saturday. FYI, the SL65 AMG Black Series was at the LA Auto Show, PURE SECKS! My favorite car of the show hands down.

2005 Lotus Elise - ForcedFed 340, now at 15 psi and needing dyno for results.
2002 Ford Focus SVT - 4.6L V8 RWD conversion, twice the cylinders and half the sense.

I saw her chest all the way from West Hall. The Maserati female booth attendants were much friendlier (and also very attractive), that Lambo girl didn't seem interested in talking to anyone, at all. They basically hired her as decoration.

Yep, hard not to notice, but I was with my g/f, so I had to have the appearance of being good. Besides, they take way too much "Gallar-dough" to keep interested.

Who saw the girl with the new 370Z? She had great twin coolers, aero tail and front splitter!

Seems not ALL the "aftermarket parts" were to be found in Kentia Hall. There were a lot "booth" personnel modeling the cars with their fair share of "aftermarket parts".

Cheers,
Kiyoshi

True enough, but the Solstice DID dominate T2 this year, a class in which the Elise is not even remotely competitive.

2005 Elise Starlight Black
2005 Elise Saffron Yellow
2005 Elise Ardent Red
2006 Exige Graphite Grey
2007 Exige Canyon Red

Other:
1970 MGB GT
1970 Datsun 510
1984 Honda CRX Si
1984 Pontiac Fiero
2004 Chrysler Crossfire
