KERS?

It's subtle, but this article implies Lotus is working with Flybrid for street system:

Lotus is leader in developing hybrid and EV drivetrain technology.

so it would stand to reason they are involved in (likely) integrating a specific kern system into a drivetrain package. might be consultancy work for - well maybe for volvo...

Lotus *Engineering* yes, but Lotus Cars not so much. IIRC, the concepts a few years ago had it, but I am just surprised to see it brought up again for their production car line.

lotus engineering built the lotus evora 414e... so not sure how in this case lotus cars vs lotus engineering really matters?

'he who shall not be named' wanted kers in the esprit. the report could simply be referring to that....

Lotus Cars and Lotus Engineering are both business units of Group Lotus, that just means they report their own P&L's

'he who shall not be named' stalled engineering in order to focus on... ummm... not really sure what they were focusing on. but it was a huge missed opportunity to license their innovation. in fact, Lotus has failed to put any of their innovation into production, and of course we don't know about licensing... but I've not heard anything more since the days when "HWSNBN" took office.

the 414e had rear wheel 'steering' and stability control by virtue of electronic torque vectoring.. along with a host of other really cool stuff
