New '06 Elise - Price Opinions

First post here. I am seriously contemplating purchasing the following car and am wondering what people thougth of the price:

New 2006 Elise - Orange
Sport Pack
Hard Top
Touring Pack
Star Shield

Price - said they will offer it at cost and that is $46,915.

Does anyone know if this really is cost and if there is any other wiggle room here?

Thanks

I would use this as a baseline of how low the prices can go:

2011 Lotus Evora - SOLD 4/18/13
2011 Lotus Evora S - SOLD - 10/7/14
2014 Lotus Evora S IPS - SOLD 2/13/16
2016 Something else in red

Cool. Test driving it on Saturday. Looking forward to joining this community. At one time I owned a M Coupe and that was a blast. Can't wait to bring this to the track.

Wink good price !

I don't think that you can find a better deal unless Lotus comes with special incentives for 06 models which is very unlikely in the light of the 07 price increase.
Have fun

Hmm I dont see why everyone values buying a car new so much. I mean ya its worth something but not ten grand and a couple thousand miles, there werent any huge changes for 06, now you can get an 05 for 30, 17 grand less! Seems a no brainer for me...

If you plan on keeping it, that hit was to me worth it, to know that I properly broke it in, never bottomed out, and had routine maitenance performed properly and piece of mind that it was never in a fender bender or abused. But then I only paid $39,900 for a brand spanking new car with full warranty !

Currently:
1964 Volvo 1800S
1965 Sunbeam Tiger
1966 Pontiac GTO
2005 Lotus Elise
2011 VW Touareg - Support vehicle for all of the above
