The ad sure doesn't provide much information, but the price is fair for a car in good condition, with a clean history. Add to the badging observations, the rear panel delete. Someone has played around with this car - which isn't necessarily bad, it just leaves questions to be answered...
The problem with many dealers is that many view cars as mere commodities. Many non-Lotus or non-exotic dealers have no clue what to look for when they take these cars in and don't know how to represent them for sale either. Often they are viewed by the dealers as a fun novelty that gets people to stop at their lot, and that's about all.
A local LT member could be a big help to check this out in-person. You might want to post the request in that regional sub-forum.
I'd call the dealer and ask some very specific questions about the vehicle history and condition. Have body panels been replaced or repaired? Has there ever been any damage to the chassis or suspension whatsoever? Do you have maintenance records? If they can't provide good and reasonable answers go very slow. Have a very thorough third party inspection done by a Lotus experienced tech done and make a passing report part of any offer.
