My (previous) Europa Special

Wondering if anyone knows where my old "74 Europa Special might be? I sold it in San Diego around 1984. It was a wonderful car and I'd sure like to know if it's ok and being taken care of. If I remember correctly the SN was 744303R. It was originally sort of a milk chocolate brown but I had it stripped and painted Porsche Peru Red. The interior was the Champagne or ivory color. I had the front "wart" turn signals shaved and relocated to the edges of the grille for a cleaner look. The engine was improved by Dave Bean and it was fast and reliable. I sold it with the CA license plate saying LOTUS74. I'm driving a beautiful Evora now but sure do miss my Europa!

Although I always prefer originality, I must say I do like the front lights arranged like that. I guess I'm partial to accessory "driving lights" tucked into that position similar to the current Elise and therefore would have kept the "bump" lights up top. Nice car. I hope you find it once again...

Agreed about the originality thing. I was much younger at the time and got talked into it by my local Lotus mechanic/restoration shop. I think it's a good look but should have left them where they were. I understand the very first Europas didn't have the signals located there and that was their reasoning.
