Does anyone have a schematic or understanding of how the wiring is to be done? I was assuming one would install a switch in series with the ground but looking at that price and complexity in the universal jobs I stand to be wrong. There are plenty of key switches for $5 that would work but I need to know how it needs to be wired. Also I see a resister is needed to trick the air bag light. I'd personally rather know if its off but are there drawbacks that are not immediately clear?

Lots of good cautionary reading there. Also looks like a simple double pull key switch with led indicator is all it takes. Switching to off would simply put a 2ohm resistor across the two airbag lines and unplug it from the airbag. I'm not sure what color ( looks like grey and black form previous images here ) would carry the + voltage for an LED. I could check that with a meter ( not a continuity check !!! ) to be sure. I wish I had a spare airbag laying around to play with. Hate to get awarded a Darwin metal for it.
More of this is in the interest of understanding. Trying it will not be a good suggestion. What I may end up doing is buying a spare switch for airbag shuts off off ebay and examine it. If this is truly all that it takes, then any airbag cut off should work. I have seen them for $15 on ebay.
