Routing microphone?

Just replaced my stock Elise radio with a Pioneer single-din but not sure how to route the 2.5mm microphone - either to the top of the dash or another location.. I saw a few cars with mic mounted to the right of the steering column... Is there any access from the radio cubby to fish the wire through?

Thanks

YOu can get from the rear of the radio to the steering column shroud very easily. Take the shroud off and you will see it clearly. Mine is mounted right on the top column shroud

Is the steering wheel shroud held by screws?

The lower piece has four screws, two on the bottom, and one on each side. The upper/instrument binnacle pulls off. Of course, when you pull it off, the clips tend to come off and go into the dash. I've managed to fish them out with a magnetic wand.

You don't need to take the instrument binnacle off, just the steering wheel shroud, IIRC
