I've been lucky to have been able to drive from Toronto to southern California (and back) 6 times now, and the drives are always different every single time.
With these drives, I've been fortunate enough to see and experience some gorgeous places in the USA. My last drive back to Toronto in June, I stopped at a place called Antelope Canyon, near Page, Arizona.
If you've ever seen Indian Jones & The Last Crusade, you may remember a part at the end where they ride out of this slot canyon on horses... well, that's Antelope Canyon. Also, Britney Spears filmed a video here too. I'm not so proud of knowing that fact!
Antelope Canyon is famous for it's 'beam of light' which hits between 11am-3pm or so. Because you literally walk into this canyon, the sunlight shines through these little slots many, many feet above, and when the dust is thrown up, the photographic result is amazing.
Note there are 2 canyons, literally right across the street from one another. I went to Upper Antelope Canyon, but there is also Lower Antelope Canyon, which is longer and the fun part is that you lower yourself into the earth. Look it up. Looks awesome!
Here are some photos I took. I highly recommend the 'beam of light' tour. If you ever have the opportunity to experience this phenomenon, please do!
